@AleatoryPonderings: Hello, I hope you are somehow alerted to this message! I would ask you on your page, but it's a rather lengthy question.

I am hoping to create a page for a local microbrewery, Imagine Nation Brewing Co. (INBC), since I noticed it doesn't exist, and since I noticed similar pages about other local breweries do exist (e.g. KettleHouse Brewing Company). While researching I came across this page from another Wiki about INBC. It's a fully fleshed out and well researched, and seems to have originally come from Wikipedia at some point. However: it is misnamed (Imagine Nation *Brewing*), and I cannot find an old Wikipedia page for either that or the correct name.

I hope to create this page b/c I think the work the brewery owners is doing is fantastic, and it ought to be archived. Is there any reason I can't use that page, update the references & polish it a bit, to create a page here on Wikipedia? Was it originally a page & deleted for some reason?

I know this is a lot, but Wikipedia is a very overwhelming project to get involved in & any guidance would be much appreciated.

It appears that the content on that page is licensed CC-BY-SA "unless otherwise noted". That's the same license as Wikipedia uses (see Wikipedia:Copyrights), so you should be OK from that perspective.

The real hurdle, though, is notability. Articles on companies must satisfy the notability guideline for companies (WP:NCORP), which is quite specific and sometimes demanding. At a minimum, you must be able to demonstrate that the brewery has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the company. NCORP also has some additional requirements. It might be worth using WP:AFC if you're not sure whether Imagine Nation meets the NCORP guideline.

In addition, if you have any personal affiliation with Imagine Nation, you may have a conflict of interest, which you must disclose. I know this can seem daunting, but it will all make sense soon enough! AleatoryPonderings (???) (!!!) 22:31, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

Reading through notability I do believe I can build a good case for its SIGCOV, having collected a decent bibliography of multiple independent sources. I am, however, a recent hire at the company. I do not own any stake in the business, I am only a part-time worker, and I have no "ethical or professional responsibility to edit Wikipedia to advance your client's or employer's interests." I am merely interested in document the fantastic community work of this brewery & its founders.

So I feel like I'm in the grey-zone for COI on this particular article. Do you think I could create a draft, suggest it to you and/or another prominent editor for review?

Not a problem! Given that you work at the company, you should definitely use WP:AFC. That way, another editor can take a look to see if there are any red flags. I'm not an AfC reviewer myself so I wouldn't be able to accept your draft, but there are plenty of reviewers who could. If you like, once you've made the draft I can take a look and make any improvements I can think of.

One note: it can sometimes take a while for articles to be reviewed. So I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be accepted immediately. But I promise that someone will take a look eventually :) AleatoryPonderings (???) (!!!) 20:50, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
