Welcome
editHello, Novelbank, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.
If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to announce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.
Finally, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Wikipedia notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Wikipedia or you may just get right into editing.
Again, welcome! —dima/talk/ 18:32, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Request for Mediation
editRfC
editThank you for taking the time and trouble to participate in this RfC. Your particpation and input is very much appreciated. However, I noticed that you listed your name under Users certifying the basis for this dispute. Since there are no diffs to support your position, maybe you put it in the wrong place or you are planning to add evidence later? If you made a misplaced it, it can still be counted if it goes under Other users who endorse this summary. Hope that helps. If you have any questions in the future, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks again for your contribution. --Hillock65 20:29, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- As a matter of formality, I believe at lease two users need to sign under Users who tried and failed to resolve the dispute and Alex didn't sign there, so I did as a quick fix. --Novelbank 21:08, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- OK, maybe you are right. This is my first RfC, so I might have done something wrong. Please, feel free to prompt. Thank you.--Hillock65 22:14, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Wikistalking
edit- Before "squeling" to an admin, even if he is Russian, it might help to engage the user directly. Your failed RfC and even more laughable RfAr against me, as well as the fact that after I voluntarily took a brake to Anapa for a week the contributions of both Hillock, Akhristov and you fell by a tenfold. Which makes me wonder just how much are some people interested in contributing to wikipedia? Or did are you recruited pages such as Ksenofobii - Nii and other foreign forums like Skyscrapercity.com? Now that on the other hand, unlike your senseless accusations of the failed RfAr, make quite a genuine Arbcom case. So please keep the paranoia and the "squeling" down, although my condolences...for loser's grief is loser's grief after all.
- PS the English name for the river is neither Dnepr (Rus), nor Dniapro (Bel) nor Dnipro (Ukr) but Dnieper (Eng), otherwise "Kiev" and "Odessa" in their form look slightly out of place on the template
- PPS late 2006
- PPPS - ;)--Kuban Cossack 22:10, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Your PPPS image ia a clear violation of WP:NPA and WP:CIVIL. Your personal questions are irrelevant. Your opinion on Dnieper River if anything should rather be at talk of Template:Ukraine Labelled Map where you are engaged in edit war.
- You are referring to Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Kuban kazak as "failed RfC". Indeed, as of now it's a failed attempt because you "refused" to respond to the RfC. I think such behavior can hardly be acceptable, and a review of the situation has been requested at admins board. --Novelbank 02:32, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Transliteration policy
editAs a contributor to articles relating to Ukraine, you are invited to participate in the discussion about transliteration of Ukrainian words. I would appreciate your participation. Discussion is located here. Thank you. — Alex(U|C|E) 18:03, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Apologies
editI have to apologize, I have been busy in real life and was unable to attend to the Language Policies article we were discussing previously. I have been doing random edits only but will get to it shortly. On unrelated topic, I was wondering about your opinion on this and our prospect of writing something like this here. Thanks. --Hillock65 22:55, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Real life is keeping me busy too. On one hand, I know, that language polices article (or something similar) needs to be written, but on the other hand I don't have time to do it. So, actually, I have to apologize that I don't have much more to bring in.
- I checked Ukrainophobia in uk-wiki. I see, Irpen was complaining there, but at the end, it's well referenced, and it's a good piece of work. I like the positive ending of the article, in which a way to diminish phobia issues is highlighted. I think the prospective for such article in the English wikipedia is positive. The current Ukrainian version is a way better than Estophobia, which is under deletion. The subject is academic [1],[2], [3]. The article probably needs to stay more by the books. It needs to include more on Stalin’s Ukrainophobia. In Russophobia a significant part is devoted to anti-russian sentiments of Hitler. In Ukrainiphobia, Hitler’s view of Ukraine as a colony, and Ukrainian as slaves should definitely be mentioned too. From the Estophobia discussion you see that people can hardly accept if only the list of facts is given as an illustration of the phobia. They ask for more. They want to see not only the facts but also a proof that such facts are indeed classified as phobia by reliable sources. As long as it's reasonably satisfied, the article is fine. --Novelbank 03:41, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
RFC/USER Russianname
editA Request for Comment on User:Russianname has been filed. As user, who had experience of dealing with this individual your comments on this RfC would be appreciated. Thank you. --Hillock65 14:35, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
The above mediation is in the full swing. You listed yourself as one of the participants, I was wondering if you have anything to contribute to the discussion? Thanks. --Hillock65 12:37, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:SovNarPit200705.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:SovNarPit200705.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:11, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Please merge your accounts in all Wikipedias
editHi,
I have noticed that you are using accounts Novelbank in different Wikipedias but you have not merged them into a global account yet. Global accounts become mandatory since 15 April 2015, and all non-merged accounts will be renamed.
As of now, most likely you have accounts Novelbank in other projects, notably in Ukrainian Wikipedia, which are not merged with your global account. Please click on Special:MergeAccount and finish the unification process. You can check the state of your account unification at Special:CentralAuth/Novelbank
If you don't merge your accounts by 15 April, your accounts (in Wikipedias other than English) can be renamed.
If you have questions you can ask them on my talk page. Best regards — NickK (talk) 18:06, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
