editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Rob McDowall do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.
- Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
- The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bbebo\.com' (link(s): http://i3.bebo.com/045a/12/mediuml/2008/03/01/22/3657864611a7040105593ml.jpg) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image or a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
- Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 20:03, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Rob McDowall
editA tag has been placed on Rob McDowall requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. αѕєηιηє t/c 20:16, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Meeeeeeeeeee.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Meeeeeeeeeee.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Rob McDowall. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Rob McDowall. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

This is the only warning you will recieve. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Talk:Rob McDowall. Sceptre (talk) 22:55, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Np097264 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I did not vandalise. If you read the article I was amending it and adding more information, there is Nothing in this page which was vandalised or otherwise.
Decline reason:
The links you added were in violation of our external links policy, which you were warned about multiple times as seen above. You continued to add these links in spite of the warnings. Unless you show that you understand how that policy, and others, were violated, your block will not be lifted early. — Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:09, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

editI have nominated Rob McDowall, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rob McDowall. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Meeeeeeeeeee.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Meeeeeeeeeee.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:26, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Blocking policy
editI have been blocked? I have done nothing wrong. No vandalism, I am a new member and keep getting really silly warnings instead of help. Can you please look at the article and let me know what part of it is vandalism?
- You are not blocked now. I understand from the unblock request granted message that you understand now. Please read WP:SPAM and WP:EL to understand about external links policies. -- Alexf42 15:20, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

With regards to the article
editI see the notability now. With regards to us not giving help - the idea is that you ask, because sometimes new editors are offended by our concerns. αѕєηιηє t/c 23:34, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Image:Meeeeeeeeeee.jpg
editA tag has been placed on Image:Meeeeeeeeeee.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Meeeeeeeeeee.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. αѕєηιηє t/c 23:34, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

You are free to edit the content of Rob McDowall during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Rob McDowall
editHello - I've deleted the article again, because when an article's deleted after a discussion (such as the one that took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rob McDowall), you can't re-create it without raising the issue at deletion review. If you would like to work on the article in your userspace (i.e. at User:Np097264/Rob McDowall), let me know, and I'll put the deleted content there. It's possible that in doing that you'll be able to work the article into the kind of shape that would allow it to be kept. Steve Smith (talk) 23:12, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hello again. I'm sorry this site can seem unwelcoming. With regards to the article, I agree that it wasn't identical. However, notability is measured by coverage by reliable third party sources, and the new version didn't seem to demonstrate any more such coverage than the old one did. I understand that you put quite a bit of work into it, but that is not lost: as I said above, I can restore the article to your userspace if you would like to continue working on it there. Steve Smith (talk) 23:24, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
- Well, there are a couple of options. As I said, I can restore the article to your userspace and you can work on it there. Alternatively, if you feel that my decision to delete it was in error, you can list it at deletion review, where a discussion will decide whether or not my actions were correct. If you find listing it there to be confusing (these things can be, until you get the hang of them), I'd be happy to list it for you. Let me know how you would like to proceed. The file File:Robmcdowall.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Personal file, no foreseeable encyclopedic use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jon Kolbert (talk) 22:16, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
