Hi Nthep. You deleted this file yesterday (April 10) per WP:F7, but the uploader has reuploaded it again. The latest version has already been tagged for speedy deletion. I'm not sure if this editor fully understands WP:IUP or WP:NFCC based upon all of the file-related notifications on their user talk page, so there might be a WP:CIR when it comes to files. Commons has a template c:Template:End of copyvios which is often used in case like this, but not sure what Wikipedia uses. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:50, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Wrong licensing

I admit, I have no source that was the copyright condition of the logo (threshold of originality). I'm sorry, I will change the licensing and add a source. It is already in low resolution. Gidev the Dood(Talk) 19:24, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not sure what I've done, but for some reason, the statistics page is all messed up. I was editing the page, saved it, then it saved it under "discipline" for some reason. I've tried to fix it several times but I just can't seem to get it right. Can you have a look and see where I have gone wrong?

Regards. L1amw90 (talk) 20:03, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

@L1amw90: you just forgotten to end the use of columns with {{Col-end}}. I've also changed the formatting so you don't have to add "align=left" for each row. Nthep (talk) 20:10, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
@Nthep: I've fixed it, it was just missing a |} at the end that's all.
@L1amw90: looks like someone doesn't agree with having the disciplinary information in there at all. Nthep (talk) 18:44, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Hello Nthep I noticed today I wrote a message to you a day or so ago on a talk page for Robert Reed artist and my message to you is pulling up in Goggle. It is the message about not being able to fix line errors in the references. Is there someway to remove that message from the Goggle listing?

Thanks. Susanwhetstone (talk) 22:19, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Here is the link to the cached file Talk:Robert Reed (artist) - Wikipedia

Susanwhetstone (talk) 22:24, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

@Susanwhetstone:, Hi, I can't find any talk page messages cached on Google. Nthep (talk) 15:40, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Nthep This is what keeps coming up when I searc hhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Robert_Reed_(artist) an saafari, google or bing. I went back and deleted the conversation on the Talk:Robert_Reed_(artist) wiki page but it must be cached so that the earlier version with the conservation keeps coming up. I suppose overtime the bots will pick up the corrected page but its concerning that my very frist converation with wiki is coming up publically. It was my mistake because I wrote it on a page that I shouldn't have in wkik and not the correct talk page. If you can help get it removed I would be grateful. So what were this edit and this edit about then? So far I haven't found any of your edits that are positive, everything has been petty vandalism, deliberately changing sourced information or introducing unsourced dubious content and believe me, you are a hairs breadth away from an indefinite block. Nthep (talk) 22:04, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the Easter Egg

(When do you celebrate, Easter, Nthep?!)

I think there is a contribution by Irina Flige in the neo-Stalinism article -- the only place I could find where she's mentioned on English Wikipedia. Take a look ...

Never mind, there's now a better source describing the part she and Yury Dmitriev played in discovering Sandarmokh. I'll add it shortly -- thanks for the "reminder"! John Crowfoot (talk) 14:01, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

Whenever I eat chocolate :-) it's the "by" that was my point, neo-Stalinism has some content by her, not "about" her. Nthep (talk) 14:06, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – May 2018

News and updates for administrators from the past month (April 2018).

  Administrator changes

  ChochopkCoffeeGryffindorJimpKnowledge SeekerLankiveilPeridonRjd0060

  Guideline and policy news

  • The ability to create articles directly in mainspace is now indefinitely restricted to autoconfirmed users.
  • A proposal is being discussed which would create a new "event coordinator" right that would allow users to temporarily add the "confirmed" flag to new user accounts and to create many new user accounts without being hindered by a rate limit.

  Technical news

  • AbuseFilter has received numerous improvements, including an OOUI overhaul, syntax highlighting, ability to search existing filters, and a few new functions. In particular, the search feature can be used to ensure there aren't existing filters for what you need, and the new equals_to_any function can be used when checking multiple namespaces. One major upcoming change is the ability to see which filters are the slowest. This information is currently only available to those with access to Logstash.
  • When blocking anonymous users, a cookie will be applied that reloads the block if the user changes their IP. This means in most cases, you may no longer need to do /64 range blocks on residential IPv6 addresses in order to effectively block the end user. It will also help combat abuse from IP hoppers in general. This currently only occurs when hard-blocking accounts.
  • The block notice shown on mobile will soon be more informative and point users to a help page on how to request an unblock, just as it currently does on desktop.
  • There will soon be a calendar widget at Special:Block, making it easier to set expiries for a specific date and time.

  Obituaries

Tourist Attractions, Europe

I am the creator of the Wikipedia page Tourist_Attractions,_Europe. I have edited the article. Please kindly provide some suggestions on how to improve the content and quality of the article. I don't want it to be deleted. Thanks. Nthep Beston77 (talk) 22:20, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

Well for a start it is completely unreferenced. It doesn't have any structure to it explaining what the topic is about, instead you have some random opinions and statements about three European cities all of which is completely encyclopedic or if is encyclopaedic (which I don't think it is) is information that could be included in the articles about the cities. Administrators' newsletter – June 2018

News and updates for administrators from the past month (May 2018).

  Administrator changes

  None

  Guideline and policy news

  Technical news

  • IP-based cookie blocks should be deployed to English Wikipedia in June. This will cause the block of a logged-out user to be reloaded if they change IPs. This means in most cases, you may no longer need to do /64 range blocks on residential IPv6 addresses in order to effectively block the end user. It will also help combat abuse from IP hoppers in general. For the time being, it only affects users of the desktop interface.
  • The Wikimedia Foundation's Anti-Harassment Tools team will build granular types of blocks in 2018 (e.g. a block from uploading or editing specific pages, categories, or namespaces, as opposed to a full-site block). Feedback on the concept may be left at the talk page.
  • There is now a checkbox on Special:ListUsers to let you see only users in temporary user groups.
  • It is now easier for blocked mobile users to see why they were blocked.

  Arbitration

  • A recent technical issue with the Arbitration Committee's spam filter inadvertently caused all messages sent to the committee through Wikipedia (i.e. Special:EmailUser/Arbitration Committee) to be discarded. If you attempted to send an email to the Arbitration Committee via Wikipedia between May 16 and May 31, your message was not received and you are encouraged to resend it. Messages sent outside of these dates or directly to the Arbitration Committee email address were not affected by this issue.

  Bureaucrat changes

  AndrevanEVula

  Guideline and policy news

  • An RfC about the deletion of drafts closed with a consensus to change the wording of WP:NMFD. Specifically, a draft that has been repeatedly resubmitted and declined at AfC without any substantial improvement may be deleted at MfD if consensus determines that it is unlikely to ever meet the requirements for mainspace and it otherwise meets one of the reasons for deletion outlined in the deletion policy.
  • A request for comment closed with a consensus that the {{promising draft}} template cannot be used to indefinitely prevent a WP:G13 speedy deletion nomination.

  Technical news

  • Starting on July 9, the WMF Security team, Trust & Safety, and the broader technical community will be seeking input on an upcoming change that will restrict editing of site-wide JavaScript and CSS to a new technical administrators user group. Bureaucrats and stewards will be able to grant this right per a community-defined process. The intention is to reduce the number of accounts who can edit frontend code to those who actually need to, which in turn lessens the risk of malicious code being added that compromises the security and privacy of everyone who accesses Wikipedia. For more information, please review the FAQ.
  • Syntax highlighting has been graduated from a Beta feature on the English Wikipedia. To enable this feature, click the highlighter icon ( ) in your editing toolbar (or under the hamburger menu in the 2017 wikitext editor). This feature can help prevent you from making mistakes when editing complex templates.
  • IP-based cookie blocks should be deployed to English Wikipedia in July (previously scheduled for June).

  Miscellaneous

  • Currently around 20% of admins have enabled two-factor authentication, up from 17% a year ago. If you haven't already enabled it, please consider doing so. Regardless if you use 2FA, please practice appropriate account security by ensuring your password is secure and unique to Wikimedia.

Gopastami revdel

Hi. That was my first time using the new script. Did I do it correctly?Onel5969 TT me 19:03, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

Almost, the start revision needs to be the one the copyvio was added in not the revision prior to the one where you removed the copyvio. As I don't use the script I don't know how easy it is to use but this seems to be a common error by people using the script. That said it's not a big issue as it's normally fairly easy to spot when the copyvio comes from. Nthep (talk) 19:12, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Thank you. It's not that easy, since the script assumes you know the answers to the several questions (like the id# of the revision), without you being able to go back. You have to open a new window. Also, you might not be sure which prior edit the copyvio was added on. But will try to be more specific in the future. Thanks for the answer. Onel5969 TT me 01:48, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

How to request Full protect........

With recent events in the Brian Christopher death or non death as it were how do I request Full protect until there is reliable information? I'm on my phone and I can't find anything but semi protect requests. People are not looking at the talk page and just keep adding the death because there is so much conflicting information. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 18:15, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

Appears you did it while I was sending this to you, thanks. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 18:19, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
No problems. I normally avoid anything to do with wrestling but I can't overlook some of the gross BLP violations I'm seeing here. Nthep (talk) 18:22, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

Brian Christopher is dead. If you Google it, there are now 50+ reputable links verifying this. Why have you locked the category? It has been confirmed.

See the article talk page and please remember to sign your talk page posts with ~~~~ Nthep (talk) 18:57, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
