You gotta be kidding me. No explanation at the request -- can you explain why copying facts from a list is copyvio? Please ping. — kwami (talk) 18:42, 17 January 2022 (UTC)

@Kwamikagami apologies, I misread the copyvio as being the quote not the table of phonetics. But the two of you need to take this to WP:3O or some other dispute resolution rather than keep sniping at each other. Nthep (talk) 18:59, 17 January 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for that. Yes, we've gotten rather ridiculous, which is why I reverted to the last stable version until we get this straightened out. — kwami (talk) 19:05, 17 January 2022 (UTC)

It's still a copyvio - the 'facts' aren't facts, they are a specific linguist's theory. No native speakers were interviewed. No other linguists have corroborated the data. Consider it fiction if you like, but it's still definitely a violation, even if the equivalent wouldn't be for a natural rather than constructed language. Those lists do become 'facts' because they are obtained from interviews with native speakers and confirmed by other linguists. If you think a list of pronunciations attributed to angels could be 'facts', I've got a bridge for sale... Skyerise (talk) 20:04, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
There are times when there is no alternative except to repeat the source, see WP:LIMITED. I'll give you the same advice as I gave to Kwami, stop sniping at each other and start identifying specific issues and seeking other opinions; rather than starting multiple discussions in different places. RD1

Thank you again for responding to all my RD1 requests. I am working now, so I don't have as much time for Wikipedia. Is it okay for you to check my RD1's right now? It appears that the most recent administrator to check them wasn't sure of what to do with mine. I don't want us to have to keep explaining ourselves to administrators who are unsure of what to do. Sorry if I'm asking for too much. Scorpions13256 (talk) 20:57, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

Thank you so much. Scorpions13256 (talk) 21:02, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Self trout for tonight. It appears I may have tagged the wrong article for RD1. Thanks again. Scorpions13256 (talk) 01:54, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:00, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
