Hello, Nthom25, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Picking articles

edit

Dont forget to practice talk page editing by introducing yourself on a classmates talk page. Now it is time to choose an article to create or edit. Pick 3-5 potential articles and list them below. A good place to start is WikiProject Mass spectrometry. At the bottom of the page is the table of articles by quality and importance (also here) and the list of popular pages (also here). Pick out some interesting stub ([1]) or start ([2]) class articles that you might like to edit. --Kkmurray (talk) 17:00, 2 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Potential Articles

edit
  1. Electron capture ionization- Stub: This article can use more information.
  2. Sonic spray ionization- Stub: This is only a part of the article Ion source.
  3. Thermal ionization mass spectrometry- Start: This article could use more information on applications with more references.
  4. Thermospray- Start: This article can go into more detail.
  5. Surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization- Start: This article can use more references and information. Nthom25 (talk) 01:48, 11 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Electron capture ionization will be a good article to edit. --Kkmurray (talk) 15:03, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Comments on Bibliography

edit

Commenting on this version: [3]: Refs 1 and 2 are primary sources and not ideal (see WP:PRIMARY). Ref 4 is electron capture dissociation not electron capture ionization. See doi:10.1021/es505993z for a review. You will also want to integrate your article with electron capture detector. --Kkmurray (talk) 18:52, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Gas chromatography electron capture detector.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Gas chromatography electron capture detector.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:05, 15 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Reviewing

edit

HELLO

edit

First of all, i would like to thank you for your effort and improvement the article. Also i would like to highlight the strong points:
1- your improvements added more references.
2- you didnot have grammatical errors.
3- your addition were clear structurally.
4-you were neutral in your writing.
5-you are using tertiary sources.

== But I have some suggestion that can help improve your editing ==

1-The lead section can reflect more about the most important sections in the article.
2-The article need more coverage about the topic, such as: how the EC used with CI, how the EC can be used with gas chromatography, how the EC detector works.
3- you can add more supporting materials such as:EC detector image with or without gas chromatography.
4-You can add more internal links,e.g.molecular ions and electron ionization.
