- Hello Moonraker. Thank you for your welcome and encouragement! It is nice to know my contributions are appreciated and to have someone I can turn to in case I encounter a problem. Contributing images seems to be going OK so far; editing text or creating a new page is much more daunting.
- On my list of contributions I see that some are marked 'current' and others are not. Is there any special reason for this difference ?
Numisantica (talk) 16:57, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
- An edit marked "current" is the most recent one for the page. So if your latest edit is not marked as current, another editor has changed the page since you did. Moonraker (talk) 22:45, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
Sources!
editHi Numisantica,
Could you please add the sources of your information to John of Flanders? It's important to have reliable sources on every article to make sure the content of Wikipedia is verifiable. They don't have to be online, or even in English, books are fine. QVVERTYVS (hm?) 15:49, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Qwertyus,
- The short bio was based on the Dutch Wikipedia, 'Jan van Vlaanderen'. I just added a translation reference to this page on the 'Talk' page of John of Flanders. I am completely new with the process of providing sources, I hope it is OK now.
- Numisantica (talk) 20:27, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- I found a reference and added it. Looks like nlwiki had the date of death wrong. (nlwiki is extremely sloppy when it comes to sourcing, and Wikipedia itself never counts as a reliable source. But labeling a translation as such is actually required for copyright reasons.) QVVERTYVS (hm?) 20:40, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 't Vliegend Hert, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nieuwpoort. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

- Hi DPL,
- Thank you for bringing the problem with the link to my attention; it was indeed unintended. I have changed the link to direct it to the correct/intended article. Numisantica (talk) 11:22, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Adding a picture
editHi Numisantica! That print of the Joyous Entry of John of Austria is a great addition, but you are not supposed to mark this kind of edit as 'minor' (see WP:ME). No harm done really, just something to keep in mind. Thanks for your contributions! --Lemnaminor (talk) 19:12, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Lemnaminor,
- Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Up until now I only marked changes to the text/content as 'major', not for adding images. I will keep this in mind for future contributions.
Disambiguation link notification for December 11
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Willem Baudartius, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gent. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

2019 US Banknote Contest
editUS Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |
