I found my way to your edits by seeing User:Magicpiano's surprisingly big deletion of text at the Birmingham Green Historic District article (see below). Magicpiano is correct that the document is not in the public domain; it is a common type of error for editors new to the NRHP documents. You are correct to recognize that the NRHP documents are great sources for explaining about NRHP-listed sites. But while the copy-pasted text would have been fine if the NRHP doc was PD, it is not in fact okay.

I hope you will understand that your contributions based on them are and will be appreciated! And that Magicpiano did you a service by letting you know about the problem sooner rather than later. You did add more value which did not have to be deleted, like your providing good reference to the NRHP document, which I will restore. The NRHP source provides plenty of info for us to describe the site in our own words, and also we can explicitly quote from it. I hope you will return and help edit the three articles you've created or developed:

Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Birmingham Green Historic District. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. The text that was added to the Birmingham Green article was not in the public domain; I have removed it (ditto the John I. Howe House). The text of National Register nomination documents is normally copyrighted to the writer, unless they happen to be a federal government employee doing government work. Please try to synthesize the nomination content into your own words before adding it back. Magic♪piano 19:53, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Yeah what you did would have been perfect for a public domain source like Federally-created DANFS text is for U.S. Navy ships. It is sort of odd that NRHP nomination documents are not automatically in the public domain; the National Park Service ought to require that they be donated to the public that way, but they don't. We have to put NRHP info into our own words, which anyway is not all bad, it makes us think about it more and update it to the current time, for example. And readers get to follow our links to the full NRHP documents, which are quite hard to find, otherwise. --doncram 22:40, 6 August 2016 (UTC)

Hey, I just noticed the "Livingplaces" source about the Birmingham Green makes the situation pretty confusing. That website is not valid: in my opinion the "Gombach Group" is violating copyright and plagiarizing, because they took long passages from the NRHP document. What gall for them to claim copyright on their changes! It was a bad example to start with. It is very understandable you would think the NRHP document is in the public domain. --doncram 23:00, 6 August 2016 (UTC)

Derby, Connecticut NRHP table copy

Hey, i see that among many other edits you made to the Derby, Connecticut article recently, you added a table of Derby's historic sites listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Which you must have extracted from the corresponding NRHP county/city list-article. Hey, I think that brief listing of these places in the Derby article is fine and good and linking to the list-article is too, but duplicating the table is not helpful, IMHO, in part because it sets up more maintenance work or disparities in the coverage. Me and others have gone through this issue a few times before. Could you please discuss? Have you done this in other town articles? Either way, I am glad you are interested and contributing. Hey! I was just trying to make the look of the page a little better with a table, also add some pictures on the page to add some more visuals of the sites. I haven't done this with any other pages, I was surprised I was able to duplicate it honestly. I will take a look at what some other pages have done with their NRHP sites and work on it. Thank You! Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Nwdantona!
