New diagram at Non-equilibrium thermodynamics
editThank you for making a new diagram.
For the purposes of this article, I would like to ask you to very kindly please change the diagram's words "Far from equilibrium" to 'Local thermodynamic equilibrium with steady state energy flow'.Chjoaygame (talk) 21:16, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
I have changed the text to energy-driven as this is slightly clearer as the diagram could correspond to both steady state and time-varying. I also wonder whether this figure is better placed in the overview section given that it is not specifically about stationary states.--Nzjacobmartin (talk) 02:32, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response.
- Yes, you are right that I was too restrictive in focusing on the steady state scenario. As you say, time variation is also admissible. Still, local thermodynamic equilibrium is necessary for the figure to belong in an article on thermodynamics. Then my little commentary with its heading will need to be changed. Anticipating this, I will shortly change it.Chjoaygame (talk) 04:20, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
