OC
Welcome
editHello OC. You just left a message on my talk page (User_talk:Meegs). I left you a reply there, but I noticed that no one has properly welcomed you to Wikipedia. So... welcome, we're glad to have you here.
You've made quite a few good edits already, but here are a few good links that are useful to newcomers and veterans alike:
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
By the way, one important thing is to continue to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump, or ask me on my Talk page. ×Meegs 13:40, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
Indian Mound Park
editI recently carried out a major expansion on the Indian Mound Park article which you originally started. I believe it answers the questions you posed at the time on the discussion page. Check out the page if you get a chance and let me know what you think. Leeannedy 22:52, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
-- That's great job ! I let you going one with this article. Thanks.
Dauphin Island
editWhoa! Thanks for catching that! I'm not sure what happened, but I reverted the erroneously deleted text. Вasil | talk 17:56, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Swiss pipe bands
editPlease stop adding the list of swiss pipe bands to this article. None of the ones in the list have articles, therefore they are not considered notable enough to be included in this list. Thank you--Jac16888 (talk) 13:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for spelling correction
editThanks for fixing my spelling of canntaireachd in Strathspey (dance). I'm never able to get Gaelic right, so I end up with a lot of redlinks. I'll try to remember this time, though! --MatthewLiberal (talk) 18:16, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes Gaelic always seems to have more letters than needed ! :-)
Jean-François de Galaup comte de Lapérouse -or- Jean-François de Galaup, comte de La Pérouse
editI have suggested a move of the above and I note from the history of the article that you have previously held an interest in it. I thought it appropriate to pay you the courtesy of letting you know about this. Details are on the articles discussion page. Felix505 (talk) 14:50, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called OC. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name OC~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
editHello, OC. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
