Hello Odalis, these are some really, really great topics! I think that the last one on social circles might be the best. There is a lot of work on dyads and triads from Georg Simmel, and I think that you could really delve into a lot of literature in sociology about small groups, cliques, etc. That one might be one of the best ones to pursue. The second best one is that of work etiquette. I think you can bring into the article stuff from Erving Goffman, which we will be reading this semester, and that you can talk about interpersonal relations in work using very good research from sociology. And, finally, the third best is that of vulgarity. I don't particularly know any literature you could look for, but there might be good stuff out there. I recommend not going towards bioculture or selfmarriage, but I would be willing to reconsider if you present me some good reasons as to why it could be relevant to sociology and if you find good citations. I'm open to being convinced! 87.210.247.154 (talk) 09:28, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello Professor Garcia,

Thank you for your positive feedback on the topics I chose. I think I'm going to go with Social Circle as my topic. Considering its something that we are going to go over in class and can do more research on so I think it'll benefit me in the long run for the project. Thank you again. Hello Professor Garcia, so for my topic I kind of went back to the topic of self-marriage. I realized what you mean by how it can be hard to talk about. For this assignment only I added content, which you'll see for yourself. I got trolled immediately when I added something, they are jerks to say the least. I did the best I could considering the timing and will still go back to researching for social circles or social stratification. Just thought you should know whats going on. @Alfgarciamora: Odalis92 (talk) 04:17, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Odalis. Yes, I feared that this would happen. I think that it is WAY too late in the semester to switch topics or to try and start something new all of a sudden, so please remain consistent moving forward with one or two topics at most. You can't do good research if you are jumping around too much. As far as the trolls go, just remember that they are, in the end, trying to make sure that Wikipedia remains a useful and reliable source for encyclopedic material. Be overly nice to them in your responses and give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm sorry that it happened like that, but in the future do not leave things for the last minute. @Odalis92: Alfgarciamora (talk) 14:23, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
