template:good article
editi think you misunderstand the nature of the vote. there is an already successful "GA" template which goes on talk pages of articles. it must stay, as it is good & useful. what is in contention is a new template "goodarticle" that goes on the *main article* itself. i am also a supporter of the GA process, but dont like templates being stuck on the article page when they are better in the talk page. i hope you can reconsider your vote in light of this. PLEASE SEE the Wikipedia Manual of Style
editDude, the Manual of Style (WP:MOS) clearly prescribes sentence case unless the title is a proper noun. Fair use is not a proper noun (it is not a place, person, or thing) and thus is traditionally kept in lower case or sentence case where it starts a sentence. I'm moving the article back. --Coolcaesar 01:48, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Considering how every court decision not arising from a criminal prosecution is going to qualify, I question the need of this category. We already have a system of case law categories organized by legal subject area and court; this doesn't add anything to that. Postdlf 21:40, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Moving of articles
editHello. I moved File-Transfer Protocol back to File Transfer Protocol. I believe hyphenating it is incorrect per the RFC. If I've missed some discussion someplace, could you please direct me to it? Thanks! Ewlyahoocom 22:05, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello, again. I also notice that when you're moving these pages you're sometimes leaving "double redirects". There are some software limitations that make double redirects undesirable. When a page is moved, the mover is generally responsbile for checking for these double redirects and updating them to point to the new target. Please see Wikipedia:Double redirects for more information. Ewlyahoocom 22:20, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

I reverted your move of Nationalencyklopedin because I feel there needs to be a minimum of consensus for it at the talkpage first. Please motivate your edit.
I have noted you as an involved party and/or commenter upon the behavior of user:Coolcaesar in the filed Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration. I greatly wish that you would comment on his behavior, and add references, links, etc. supporting your particular view to the current evidence already there. Please also explain his attitude/comments/witnessed behavior with detail about your experience in dealing with him. I do greatly appreciate it, and note that your reputation is protected upon comments at arbitration, and cannot be used against you. Thanks for your Time. --Mr.Executive 07:59, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
template:windows-software-screenshot
editI've reverted your page move of this template. In doing so, you broke hundreds of license templates, which are extremely important for us to be displaying correctly since we're claiming fair use on images that use this template.
Aside from that, "windows screenshot" is simply not a better name than "windows software screenshot", given its usage across the encyclopedia, and how it is presented in the drop-down list on the image upload page. The word software is vital in discerning the fact that we are talking about software for Windows, not Microsoft Windows in and of itself. -/- Warren 09:34, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

- Sorry for that contribution, it wasn't really my fault. My brother was playing around with the PC during that day. I forgot to log out, leaving the door open for him to come along and type in gibberish. Sorry about that. Off! (talk) 20:30, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Symantec.png)
editThanks for uploading Image:Symantec.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:11, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Microosft Passport Network logo.gif
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Microosft Passport Network logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:47, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Spam in Watson Systems
editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Watson Systems, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Watson Systems is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Watson Systems, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:IDC logo.png
editThanks for uploading Image:IDC logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Comparison of Windows Vista and Windows XP
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Comparison of Windows Vista and Windows XP, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Blowdart | talk 15:44, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Internet Explorer 5.png
editThanks for uploading Image:Internet Explorer 5.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The file File:Minibus.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
