Regarding your recent edit to Hot Dog

edit

I don't have a fancy graphical "thank you" at hand but I thought you deserved one. I like your recent edit that clarifies the raw hot dog issue. Nicely done. JohnCub (talk) 03:28, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Template:Copyvio

edit

For future reference, this template must now be substituted. You can no longer replace a copyright violation page with {{copyvio|url=*source}} but must instead replace the page with {{subst:copyvio|url=*source}}. Thanks.--Doug.(talk contribs) 05:32, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also when you type the name of a template on a page like you did here, you don't want to just type {{copyvio}} or {{subst:copyvio}}, rather you should type {{tl|copyvio}} or some variation of {{tl}}. Thanks.--Doug.(talk contribs) 05:37, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

move back of Saudia Flight 163

edit

Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight 163 says "Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight 163 was a scheduled passenger flight of Saudi Arabian Airlines". Making the move is absurd until it matches what the article says, which never once uses the name "Saudia".--Prosfilaes (talk) 09:49, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Richardson murders

edit

If it can be properly sourced, it would be more appropriate as actual content in the article — if it's just listed as a plain "see also", the reader has no context to understand why. And if you do add context for it to the article body, then listing it as a "see also" will no longer even be necessary, because we're not supposed to use "see also" to relist items that are already linked from the main article body anyway. Hi. When you recently edited Pan Am Flight 110, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hijacking (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

MilborneOne answered, but I think its best you read it. He thinks it should stay but also be brought to the list's talk page. I want to work this out with you but need to know from you what the next step is. ...William 19:39, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Robert sandifer.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Robert sandifer.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 05:00, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

a heads-up

edit

The image File:Daniel Williams Hiers.jpg that you uploaded, you credited to the US Marshals Service. I don't seen anywhere here where the image is explicitly credited to the USMS. If he was just a cop, until he killed his wife, and disappeared, and the USMS merely acquired the photo, and is republishing it, after he disappeared, then it would not be public domain.

I think you may find that this image will be challenged at some point in the future. Geo Swan (talk) 00:07, 13 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
