Wikipedia Help Survey

edit

Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.

Thank you for your time,

Kenji Mizoguchi article edits

edit

Do you have a citation (a reliable source) for the claims about influences? There is nothing in the article text about any of these people. Could you find a reliable source for these? If you don't know how to add that to the article, please ask and I'll try to help. If you don't add a citation, since the influences aren't supported in the article text anywhere, the edits will have to be removed. Thanks. JoshuSasori (talk) 02:48, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sorry but I removed them - it needs to be supported in the article text or have a citation. JoshuSasori (talk) 04:02, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi again, sorry but the references you used are to a version of the Wikipedia article itself. Can you find a reliable source for the claims? Could you also respond on the talk page here, rather than keep on editing the article? Thanks. JoshuSasori (talk) 06:12, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jean-Pierre Melville, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Walter Hill (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:54, 20 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
