{{helpme}} The problem is that APICS no longer uses American Production and Inventory Control Society. They legally changed the organization's name, so I think it confuses the membership. Maybe the best thing to do is to change the "APICS" page to reflect the organization's current full name: APICS The Association for Operations Management. Is that possible?--Opsman1952 (talk) 20:34, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's easily solved by placing a redirect on the APICS page, pointing at the full name. People will see it either way, then. roux ] [x] 20:55, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
...which has already been done, silly me. roux ] [x] 20:58, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}} But APICS The Association for Operations Management is the organization's full name. The name, American Production and Inventory Control Society hasn't been used by the organization since the 1970s. The problem is that our members don't even know the name. I would rather not redirect anything and just rename the American Production and Inventory Control Society page to APICS The Association for Operations Management. Is that possible? --Opsman1952 (talk) 21:04, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

American Production and Inventory Control Society

edit

I have reverted your copy and paste move of American Production and Inventory Control Society to APICS. Normally, Wikipedia article title are the full name of the group, not the group's acronym. If you wish to update the article, I recommend that you edit the American Production and Inventory Control Society article instead of the acronym redirect. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:27, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Question

edit

What is the legal name of the organization? I may be able to help you out? NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 21:07, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

How's this:
The main article page shall be "APICS The Association for Operations Management."
"American Production and Inventory Control Society d/b/a APICS The Association for Operations Managment," "APICS," and "American Production and Inventory Control Society" shall all redirect to "APICS The Association for Operations Management." Does that sound good?
