Please stop edit warring over Deborra-Lee Furness's year of birth. If the edit warring continues I intend using administrative tools to put an end to this two year edit war. In biographies of living people, we are very strict about using high quality sourcing and if we we aren't sure about a piece of information and the sources we have are conflicted, then it's best to simply leave it out. You have declared your intent to continue edit warring over this material. Please do not do this as you risk having your account and IP blocked. I am posting below a welcome template which includes links to various introductory pages. If you wish to continue this dispute, I recommend you pursue dispute resolution with the anonymous editor but continued edit warring is just not an acceptable way to resolve this. Thank you. Hi Sarah. With respect, I have not declared my 'intent to continue edit warring'. I was merely attempting to prevent disinformation - which I have explained onthe D-L F page. I only saw the D-L F page for the first time recently so I haven't been part of this 'war'. I contacted her high school in an endeavour to sort it out but they said they would not give me the information due to Australian privacy laws. I didn't want to mention this on the page because of another user's comments about her school days (wich were not very nice). I didn't want to fuel their fire but I did want to discover the truth and in effect end the bickering. My motives were honorable. At least I put my name to it. Ossberto Jun 28 2008
- Well, you said that if anyone changed it, you'd keep changing it back again, which around these parts is taken as a declaration to edit war and I just wanted to stop this simmering dispute as it has been going on for way too long. If you are new to the dispute then I do apologise for lumping you in with the others. Even if the school had given you the information, it still couldn't be used on Wikipedia as we call that original research, but I appreciate your effort. We only report what other reliable sources have already published, but in this case there seems to be some variation between the sources and it is actually possible that some of these newspaper articles have used Wikipedia as their source, so I think it is better to leave out the birth year for the time being and wait and see if better independent sources become available in future.
