A few words about GAD

Behind Gad there are two people with Greek origin and a quite long musical story each: Hercules Anastasiadis, the half of Atria and for many years a musician, composer and dj, and Kostas Antoniadis, singer of the rock act Narrow Paths. As Gad, Hercules composes electro vocal tracks and does instrumental experiments while Kostas sings and either co-composes or co-writes the lyrics. Both of them continue to work with their other projects. Back in the 80s, Hercules was a member of the Athenian act, Alive She Died, and some time later a member of the electro-rock band, Trespass, with which he released an album on BMG in 1989. After the split of the group, at early 90s, Hercules continued as a dj, booked for several well known clubs in Athens and later on the Greek Islands. From 1990 till 1995 he was a member of the pioneering dj team, "Eye Rave", the first to embrace the British invasion of indie rock in Greece. From 1995 till 1998 he owned a known club in Athens, "Positive". In the year 2000 he founded Atria along with Trespass' singer, Daphne Geroyianni and he released two EPs and an album between 2001 and 2004. At the same time he continued djing in Athens and the islands (the first "after" parties in the captive beach "Sarakiniko" in Milos remain legendary) and the recent years when not performing with Atria (own shows or openning slots for Pet Shop Boys, Soft Cell, Anne Clark, Hooverphonic, Stereo MCs) he guest-djing in Athens and Thessaloniki. In spring 2005 Hercules and Kostas (long time friends and collaborators in Kostas' band, Narrow Paths) decide to create a track together for the 'Greek Electro 02' compilation, a cd series with the best of the Greek electro acts. "What Hides In There" was the result of that and the track was chosen as the first single to come out of this compilation. Gad was named so, a little before the Greek Electro 02 cd booklet was written... Summer 2005 Gad started their dj sets and brought out their positive energy through the songs that shaped them as artists. Dj sets in Athens continue till November 2005 when Hercules and Kostas got in the studio to create the songs of their first album. The album was finished with all songs being sung from Kostas' wonderful, very "northern", warm voice... Then the guys did a couple of collaborations with female singers, something to add a creative flash to the album... This wonderfully creative process was the finishing touch and the voice of Dioni from Astyplaz sung Dont Forget to Live Before You Die and Apostolina from Ammos shared vocals on Leslie Collaboration on vocals and e-cello with the young Debora E.C. Zeier from Switzerland occurred a little before album was finished in June 2006. Gad is not a dj or studio only act. Thus, the guys formed a touring band consisted of them two and two guitar players and they performed for the first time live on stage at the Greek Electro Festival 2006, at Club 22, on February 11th 2006 along with Cyanna and Mikro. Athan Hilaki

Hi,

It looks like all of your edits so far are related to Athan Hilaki and related projects. I noticed when you added both he and Trapped In Static to the List of indie rock musicians (a list subject to a lot of spam, so many of us tend to check out links people add). Just so you know, if you have a connection to Hilaki or the band, Wikipedia's terms of use require conflicts of interest be disclosed. Assuming good faith that you are a fan instead, I wanted to leave a message also to remark that these articles don't appear to meet Wikipedia's guideline for notability, which sets pretty specific requirements for what should and should not have an article. I had not yet looked at the Athan Hilaki article when I nominated Trapped in Static for deletion on notability grounds. My inclination was to nominate Hilaki, too, but since you only just created it I wanted to notify you of the issue and ask if you have sources to cite which can improve the article. The sources do not have to be in English, but they do have to be specifically about the subject, covering him in depth, and the publication itself should be reliable and secondary. If such sources exist for Trapped In Static as well (I searched and did not have luck), definitely mention them at the deletion discussion page here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Trapped In Static. Just because it's nominated for deletion doesn't mean it will be deleted -- it just opens a discussion as to whether it should.
