I went ahead and reverted all the way back to your version prior to the other editor vandalizing the article, because your new edit still contained vandalism and I could not revert the vandal's edits. When dealing with multiple vandalism events, select the last good version, choose edit, and then save the old version. That will eliminate all intermediate edits. Wikipedia Help Survey

edit

Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.

Thank you for your time,

Official Name

edit

Hey! Per the settlement infobox guidelines, the "official name" section should not be used unless the official name is distinct from the common name. So in most cases, if the city is "Ville, State" it should not include City of Ville. If the name is "Ville, State", but the official name is "Consolidated County of Ville". It would be included. Thanks for you edits!

Thanks for the explanation. Going froward I'll try my best not to incorrectly do that. DhiMinusGan (talk) 00:50, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Plant City, FL edit

edit

Hi, I removed the parenthetical phrase "(also known as Idasukshed)" from the page Plant City, Florida. I also removed your "citation needed" flag. To me, the alleged indigenous name "Idasukshed" is a sophomoric obscenity (Idasukshed > Ida suks hed). It first appeared on 24 November 2007 by an IP editor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/71.41.38.234.

I'm a newby, but this was such an obvious form of vandalism, I couldn't let it stand. Just an FYI. I'm glad you flagged it, because that focused my attention on the word. Azaqaba (talk) 02:47, 18 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
