Your submission at Articles for creation

edit

Hi. Saw you in IRC but was slow. Your article is about a person. You need to source every statement in the article to prove it is true. If you do not do this, it will not pass. Please see Help:CITE for some information. --LauraHale (talk) 01:59, 1 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Laura. I am Özge ERSU. Thanks for your prompt reply. This article is about "MY" Radio program, called "LATERNA", running on NTV Radio in Turkey for over 4 years with some awards.

The program is generally called as ÖZGE ERSU NTV RADYO LATERNA, which corresponds to "Laterna program with Özge Ersu at Ntv Radio"...

My homepage is www.ersu.net

- Is there anything wrong with this header? - Should I (or how could I) prove to source every statement? Should I wait?

Sorry for being such a novice. Thanks for all your help in advance.

Every statement needs a fact to support it. My advice on how to write new articles can be found at User:LauraHale/Creating new articles on Wikipedia. It is great that you are passionate about the subject, but as you are connected to the subject, you need to be very, very, very careful in how you write it because you have a conflict of interest with the topic. --LauraHale (talk) 02:25, 1 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Özge Ersu Ntv Radyo Laterna‎

edit

Hi. I userified Özge Ersu Ntv Radyo Laterna‎. The article has zero sources and makes claims that make compliance with policies about living people problematic. Userifying it is a good thing because it gives you more time to work on it. Had it been left on the main space, it would likely been speedily deleted. --LauraHale (talk) 02:23, 1 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dear Laura,

I understand that I am writing a subject about myself or related to me, which should be (that now I understand) one of the toughest tasks both for the writer and the editor.

ı will try to be very precise and support the facts with real-world outside links. But many of the links (such as my program received the award) are in Turkish. Would that be a problem for verification?

Thanks again. I will read the link you sent me now.

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen (Ozgeersu) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Laterna‎. Thank you.  :- ) Don 01:03, 14 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome

edit

Hello, Ozgeersu, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Laterna‎, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself has been or will shortly be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, but if you want to use the content from it, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  :- ) Don 01:04, 14 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Infobox.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Infobox.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mabdul 09:53, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:ÖzgeErsu-Wikipedia.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:ÖzgeErsu-Wikipedia.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Laterna for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Laterna is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Laterna until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Orphaned non-free image File:Laterna poster.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Laterna poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:16, 15 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
