157.246.2.6 - vandalism

Seems you have been on the case of this person. He/she has just either vandalised Drinking_water or is ignorant of English usage. Water is "drunk" not "drank" and I hope this person is "sunk", not "sank". Carrionluggage 01:15, 15 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the rv on the Howe article. His pics have dubious source claims. He also altered(again) the articles for Peter Banks and Trevor Horn. I didn't bother trying to edit war with him. I have asked Spangineer to look into the situation. Cheers! Anger22 12:05, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

My RfA

Just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for your support in my RfA. :-) I really appreciate it! Best, Irongargoyle 01:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just in case you didn't know already...

...Jimmy Page plays a Les Paul!!!! Would it be overkill to put that 'nowiki' blurb about reading the article carefully in between each entry on that list? It's going to be one of those days....sooner or later someone is going to add David Gilmour to the list of notable Strat players. Oh well...that's Wikipedia. Cheers and take care! Hey Buddy!!!...Page plays a Les Paul so just leave it! ...GEEZ it's like all of a sudden they all come out of the woodwork. I was in agreement with you in your rv on Guinnog. Opening up the list to anyone who's even touched the model once will just snowball and the article will balloon with fancruft-fluff. If it were me(and it just might be) I would copy/paste your boldtext note in between each entry on that list. And then I would copy/paste it on the Flying V user list and alter it to say "DON'T ADD JIMI!". I actually wouldn't mind seeing all the notable lists go under the same strict rules the the List of Telecaster players has. Imoeng worked had and pared that list(an article unto itself) down to a decent and informative little gem where no one can be added without a citation. It's been maintained as such since he took on the challenge of cleaning it. Perhaps, as task #1, the notable LP user list can be given the same strict treatment? I own 3 Les Pauls myself. If the list does balloon up with NN's don't be suprised if you see Anger22 right at the top of it! :) Cheers! Anger22 14:21, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've been collecting guitars for years. My first guitar was a 60s model Strat(which I still own) It's been beat to death but I still love playing it. I own 3 other Strats besides "ol' #1". One of them is a sunburst twin to my first one, one of them has a left-handed neck/headstock(ode to Jimi) and I have another that's been scalloped from the 10th fret up. I have 3 Tele's too. An ash model, a sunburst Tele with a rosewood fingerboard and a black Tele with a humbucker in the neck position. As for my Gibsons...I have many. A cherry SG, a white firebird, a black Explorer, a cherry 335, a sunburst 175 and...of course the 3 LP's. One is a 59 reissue(bought in the early 80s) + I have a 73 gold top with mini humbuckers(plays great-sounds bad) and finally a 90s LP Studio model. The LP Studio has been modded quite a bit. I replaced the chrome pieces with all black hardware and replaced the original tuners with locking tuning machines. The original pickups have been replaced with EMGs. The 'hacked' Studio model is the one I play the most. I have a few other modern "pointy" guitars: Jacksons, ESPs, Ibanez' ...a Cort M900(which is an amazing guitar!)....but my preference is for classic Gibson/Fender models(my wife says she will live with my addiction as long as I don't buy more than 1 per year). My Christmas present to myself this year is either going to be a Gretsch Billy-Bo or a Rickenbacker 360 12 string. I'm having a hard time to decide.
If I get brave I will try and "break-out" the LP notable list and build it up like the Tele list. Or maybe just start adding cites into the list as it is right now? Same goes for the Strat article and it's notable(ahem! POV ahem!) list. Cheers! Anger22 18:09, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Not that I'm not a Bowie fan...BUT...where do they come from???? There was an edit war a while back about Paul McCartney on the notable LP list. I don't have a huge problem with Macca being a Les Paul player. Every picture you see of him he is playing a Les Paul.(with a wine glass stem?) But, like Bowie or anyone else for that matter...I think one should be a notable guitarist first...before they are listed as a notable user of any guitar model. I am buying Tony Bacon's 50 years of Les Pauls book tomorrow and I am just going to start browsing through it for quotes to use as cites in that article. Many(many!!) years ago, Guitar Player released a book of all the notable interviews/articles they had dome during their first 10 years. I know I have that book at home somewhere. It may serve up a few little quotes as well. I mean it...if I see another red link on that list I am sticking Anger22 and PJM on it too! Cheers! Anger22 19:49, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks PJM!

Thanks for the rollback on my user page. I am on his hit list after rv'ing vandalism on Seadog and Pogogunner's userpages. Aguerriero rv'd him on my page before and now Andy's page is a daily target. Hopefully you won't be added to "the list". If you have time go here and do what you can to get that list FL'd. Again thanks, cheers and take care!
