editWelcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend that you to seek consensus for certain edits. Thank you. Chasewc91 (talk) 16:51, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Your recent edits
editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:56, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
You bring up a good point. The genre topic in general is controversial and very subjective. I'm sure it's been the reason for many edit wars here in Wikipedia music articles. Is Avril Lavigne punk? Is "Beat It" an R&B song or a rock song? I'm not in favor of once source being used as fact, especially in cases that could be controversial. As you noticed, though, with the Allmusic review, the genre/style classification isn't even part of the review and is definitely not done by the reviewer, but probably by Allmusic staff, so it is misleading to use that as a source. For the Demi Lovato album, power pop is mentioned in the actual review, dance pop is not. You might be best in this (and similar) case to take this to the talk page of the article in question. --Wolfer68 (talk) 21:11, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
