WP:OR in Finno-Basque languages

edit

Collecting material from various sources to back up a claim that is not supported by the sources represents WP:original research. This includes collecting lexical correspondences. If you want to illustrate the hypothesis, you may only cite examples from a source that actually proposes the relationship. Anything beyond that is original research. If the subject meets the notability criteria for inclusion in WP, you should be able to find a source which provides such examples. –Austronesier (talk) 10:37, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please have a look at the guidelines about reliable sources. –Austronesier (talk) 11:20, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Finno-Basque languages moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Finno-Basque languages, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). The content that's there is vague, possibly original research, and focuses more on reactions to the hypothesis than on what it is and what findings contribute to it. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Minor edits

edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Votic language, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. –Austronesier (talk) 16:25, 18 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Finno-Basque languages

edit

Hello, Palmtree222. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Finno-Basque languages".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
