Stupid Doubt

edit

The first one is blurred, but I guess the SC building will suffice. WRT PD, could you also clarify the status on Indian government websites: do they allow commercial use + derivative use? =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:07, 31 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

India tasks - urgent

edit

Hi Pamri, happy Diwali. just detected a problem on the above template and raised it on its talk page but couldn't rectify it. Pls. see the template talk. The problem in brief is that Category: Articles to be expanded is added to all the pages that have the template. Problem with this is that someone may expand my/your user page/usertalk page. rgds., --Gurubrahma 09:24, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Tx for the much coveted barnstar of national merit.

I am looking to clean up my user page as soon as I find a good template and some time. Idleguy 15:13, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

edit

Although, I have been contributing to India-related articles (both new and cleanups), I always wanted this list of to-do so that contributions can be more organized.

Thanks.

Diwali wishes to you too. And I'll look to have a "blast" with the "to do" template's articles. Idleguy 07:06, 2 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the welcome

I hope I am doing things right. I am a bit of a newbie but i am writing about the stuff I know better than anyone on earth (my own bands since 1990).

Indian Ocean (band)

edit

Hi, I have added the info about the various musicians from their individual pages:

which were merely stub entries. They would merit individual articles only when the entries in the main article grow too long, IMHO. Before that, I suppose it will need some rounds of clean up. What next?

Never mind. I realised I should redirect these pages to Indian Ocean (band). One question: Am I trampling on peoples' feet here? Saksham 03:42, 7 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Ya, I have sort of been lying low, been reading much more than actually editing. The question was one of policy. Before redirecting I couldn't check whether there were arguments for individual members' pages. I thought maybe someone would mind such a move. Dont want to run into people generally, now do we? :) Saksham 03:56, 7 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

My RFA

Thank you very much for supporting my rather contentious request for adminship, but now that I've been promoted, I'd like to do a little dance here *DANCES*. If you have any specific issues/problems with me, please feel free to state them on my talk page so that I can work to prevent them in the future, and thanks once again!  ALKIVAR  07:55, 8 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Disgusting

If wikipedia is really the public's encyclopedia, and there was no other Binx page it was getting in the way of... why delete it? If it gives a little girl joy -- why delete it? From a parent to you, if its not hurting anything, leave it alone. the preceding unsigned comment is by 68.233.42.26 (talk • contribs)

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, but the article had to be speedily deleted, since the subject of the article is not notable according to Wikipedia's policy. However, if you create an account, I can undelete the page and move it to your userpage. Message me once you create an account. Regards, --PamriTalk 06:43, 22 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Dear Pamri, thanks a ton for your warm support. It was your essay and adding my RfA to WP:INWNB that helped me through the last mile in reaching 50. I'm happy that I touched 50 as it is a nice and round number, but I am happier that I did not cross it as my experience on Wikipedia in terms of scope and time is much lesser than yours; (and it is always easier to protect a joint record, what do you say?) ;) I guess I'll increasingly bug you, Nichalp and Bhadani (guess he'd be free after a week or so) on what to do whenever I run into difficulties. Thanks once again for feeling me making wanted, by giving my first barnstar and by your numerous acts such as updating the vote tally. --Gurubrahma 07:17, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi could you please explain why you added the cleanup tag on the Taj Mahal article. It seemed to come rather 'out of the blue'. It would be useful to know what's supposed to be wrong with it. Paul B 11:46, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Priscilla Davis

edit
Hi, I have removed the {{nn-bio}} from Priscilla Davis, since a google search reveals enough non-wikipedia mirror content. See [1] & [2] for instance. If you still have reservations, nominate it at AFD if you think it does not meet the criterion at WP:BIO.(I think it does). regards, --PamriTalk 06:49, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message, Pamri. I placed speedy-deletes on Priscilla Davis, Andrea Wilborn and Stan Farr as together with T. Cullen Davis they seemed to be forming a self-referential circle with no outside encyclopaedic interest. T. Cullen Davis was the one article that seemed to have wider encyclopaedic interest, so I left that intact. I see now that MacGyverMagic has converted the Priscilla Davis et al articles into redirects to T. Cullen Davis, a far better solution. So I will now visit his/her talk page to thank them in turn!  Best wishes, David Kernow 03:39, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Indian radio

edit

Hey Pamri, I think the info on Library of Congress Country Studies hasn't been updated lately. I think not long ago the Indian government eased the restrictions on FM radio, and now we have a plethora of privately owned FM stations. deeptrivia (talk) 04:18, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
