Cyrillisch
editHi, sorry but this topic seems to me to duplicate the article Cyrillization, which has existed since 2004. I've redirected it to this location; feel free to use your knowledge to expand this article. Contact me if you have any thoughts on this. Blythwood (talk) 04:52, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
Cyrillization of English moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Cyrillization of English, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I dream of horses If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message (talk to me) (My edits) @ 12:59, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if your experience of contributing to Wikipedia has been a bit confusing. To explain, for a topic like a writing system to be the subject of a Wikipedia article, you need to demonstrate that the system is notable, meaning (basically) that there are articles or books written just about it. A source saying that this system was "devised by Niño Eduardo Evan Fernandez...while he was studying languages like Japanese, German and Russian, he took a liking to the Russian alphabet and decided to adapt it for English" doesn't sound like it would be enough. Wikipedia has a strong policy of removing articles on neologisms and made-up ideas, unless they clearly have traction beyond their inventor. So Bitcoin is notable, because while it's a made-up idea it's one lots of people clearly seem to care
way way too muchabout. Blythwoodcoin or ParanoidParabolacoin wouldn't be. Similarly, an article about Cyrillization of English could potentially be notable (although it would still probably be easier on readers to put it as section of the Cyrillization article in order to consider it synoptically with other languages), but for it not to be deleted it would need to be focused on systems in general use, i.e. how do Russian people convert English words into Cyrillic. Even if this "Cyrillish" system had interesting advantages, you would need to quote an expert saying so, not its inventor. Blythwood (talk) 20:22, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
