Warnings
Hi Chesnaught555, When you give out warnings it's supposed to have "subst:" infront which then adds your name correctly (IE {{subst:Uw-unsourced1|article}} which then shows up as
" Hello, I'm Davey2010. I noticed that you made a change to an article, article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. "

pending changes reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Red links in Deaths in 2016
Hi. Today, you twice edited the article Deaths in 2016, on both occasions specifically removing redlinks. I need to point out that the convention on that page is for every entry to be wikilinked, with no exceptions at all. If it then results in a redlink due to the subject having no article, then so be it. If the subject has a bluelink which leads to a disambig page, then that would also be addressed, by piping the link, as would redirecting the subject to an associated article with its own notabilit,y to create a bluelink. Merely delinking a subject's name is not acceptable. I'm sure you hadn't realised this, so please be assured I am writing in the spirit of good order and friendliness. Best wishes. - @Refsworldlee: Yes, my utmost apologies; I did not know that my behaviour was unacceptable. Thank you for clearing that up and being civil. Chesnaught555 (talk) 21:32, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
- Not "unacceptable" behaviour at all! By using that word, I only meant that the editors who help set the rules for the page would never accept the unlinking of deceased persons. I will always be civil, and I'm glad you can see that. Good luck in your Wikiing. Ref (chew)(do) 23:49, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi !
Hi Chesnaught,
Just passing. Awesome to see younger people on Wikipedia and you are apparently from the UK? Wonder what I would have done at 16 years of age with the goldmine in terms of information.
Btw, I saw your post at the TeaHouse. Where does one get information about templates and such? I would like to customize my user page a bit.
Also, I speak fluent French. If you have any questions just ask :)
P.S: How do alerts work and do you know what a ping (shows up as @Username) is?
--JamesPoulson (talk) 23:53, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- @JamesPoulson: Hello James, thank you for the kind message. I am indeed from the UK. If you want to customise your user page, a good way to do that is by using userboxes; the link to the gallery is Wikipedia:Userboxes/Gallery. Alerts work using the ping template, simply write "ping" between brackets {} and after ping put |USERNAME. I have an account on French Wikipedia myself, I am still learning a little bit! Once again, thanks. Chesnaught555 (talk) 14:16, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- @JamesPoulson: Addendum: Just seen your user page and it appears you are already familiar with these! Whoops. For discussion templates, go to Wikipedia:Template messages/Talk namespace and for general code go to the Wikipedia:Cheatsheet. Incredibly useful page which shows you basic main space Wikipedia coding, such as citation tags. As you've seen my Teahouse post, I'm certain you're familiar with blank templates. Hope the links help. Chesnaught555 (talk) 19:00, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Chesnaught555: Thanks for getting back to me. I will check those out. For French, one of the things I had the most difficulty with was the conjugation of verbs. Here is an invaluable link which gives the spelling of verbs according to tense :) . http://leconjugueur.lefigaro.fr/frlistedeverbe.php --JamesPoulson (talk) 12:26, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

My .02 cents
I think this could be an attempt to sabotage the GA review on the article. Suddenly, out of nowhere, this editor appears and starts edit warring at the article -- an editor with only 70-some edits over the course of several years since his account was created. Now an editor is suddenly suggesting I should be blocked and should stay away from the BtK article WHILE I am in the midst of the GA review? Looks fishy to me. -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 22:24, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
- Winkelvi, I agree. Definitely suspicious behaviour. Off to bed now, it is late over here (damn time zones!). I'll be back in the morning. Ches (talk) 22:50, 30 January 2016 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi Chesnaught555. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. A suggestion
Hi Ches, if you believe someone is engaging in harassment or trolling, the best thing is to ignore that person and to report it to an admin if it reaches a certain point. By interacting with, or talking about, that person, there is a risk that you actually keep it going, and then it becomes harder for outsiders to see who has caused it. So I would say the best way to help at this point is to disengage.
I know that you're standing by a fellow editor, and it's kind of you to do that when often people don't step in to help. SarahSV (talk) 17:44, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, SlimVirgin - I am currently unsure whether or not to report it as of yet. My opinion may change if anything else happens. I don't want to poke the proverbial bear so I'm not engaging in any conversation regarding her from now on. I will always be helpful, and I am glad you can see that. Happy editing, --Ches (talk) 18:20, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Redacted content
Actually, just for the record, I'm pretty sure this content you removed was directed towards me, not the person you mentioned, as you can verify I filed ANI reports against the editor for various annoying behaviors at around the time that content was added, and was frustrated with the (lack of) outcome, and he certainly seemed to enjoy mocking my frustration. LjL (talk) 18:10, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
- LjL - either/or. Thanks for mentioning that, though - regardless of who it was it's still a violation of NPA and POLEMIC. --Ches (talk) 19:44, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

- Hello Qwertsar. I'm not Chesnaught555, but I came across your comment and wanted to point out some things to you. First of all, while editing tests are not necessarily considered vandalism, they are not allowed on articles and most other pages (see Wikipedia:Vandalism#Editing tests by experimenting users). However, you are allowed to make test edits in Wikipedia:Sandbox, which exists for the purpose of testing code. Also, you should have been able to see a preview of your edits' effects on the article without having to hit the "Save" button, even when using the mobile site. Assuming that you were using the mobile version of Wikipedia, you should have been able to cancel the edit by using the "back" arrow at the top of the page.
- In response to this comment you made earlier: Chesnaught555 is allowed to remove comments from their own talk page, except for certain notices (see Wikipedia:User pages#Removal of comments, notices, and warnings). Your comments can still be seen in the page history.
- Hope this helps, CabbagePotato (talk) 08:11, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

- Qwertsar, cool! Not much to see around where I am haha. --Ches (talk) 08:47, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
You could see pretty cool creatures where you live, too. Maybe not a lot of reptiles or marsupials, since you live in the UK, which is a series of islands, however, if you frequently go to the woods where you live, you could find several creatures you would never find out here in the eastern United States. Like badgers (as long as there not locally extinct). However, if you like reptiles, you should definitely visit out in the eastern part of North America(not nessisarily the west, since there's much fewer). Or even the south! It's so diverse out here in the deciduous forests of the easternUnited States. The reason why is because, unlike Europe, who's mountain ranges go from side to side, preventing diversity from coming south as the climate grew cooler in the early Pleistocene, North America's goes up and down. So if you're looking for diversity, try traveling (in a rural area) around. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qwertsar (talk • contribs) 20:03, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Qwertsar (talk) 20:25, 22 February 2016 (UTC)Yea, grey squirrels are very harmful to the native red squirrels. Jilllyjo
I've tried to get to the bottom of why an editor indef'd for being an abusive sockpuppeter has ANY rights with regards to "banning" people from their talkpage, but so far Bbb has just repeated the fact that they're allowed to do that. It seems odd that such deference would be given to an editor who has acted so poorly. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 17:17, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hallward's Ghost: It is highly concerning that, in spite of Jilly's block, that her awful excuse on a par with WP:BROTHER has been seemingly listened to, although when questions are raised about her "father", she seems to prevaricate and say things along the lines of "I don't want to ask him". Seems highly evasive, and yet she is being acknowledged. I have to question the sanity of any administrator who unblocks her after what happened at BTK. I notice she completely removed my question on her talk page, and therefore did not state why she didn't wish to answer questions about her father, quod erat demonstrandum. Surely, even if she was going to be unblocked, consensus would have to be reached first, and that means receiving the opinions of other editors (in particular those of us involved at the BTK article and its GA review)? It's just ridiculous. --Ches (talk) 17:48, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- HG, I think Bbb23 is just trying to keep the drama down, to be honest. And, when you stop and think about it, the less attention given with actual communication to Jj, the more the purpose of WP:DENY comes into play. Let him/her rant and lie and invent stories (it's really no different than what either account did when active, anyway) -- nothing they say is going to change the fact of the CU results. The thing that I see happening with all these new tales being told and insistence that they will be back to create and work on articles goes to what happened fairly recently with a LTA sockmaster, ColonelHenry. Look up JackTheVicar and the CH accounts to see what was involved with that. JTV also, when first blocked for socking and claiming he wasn't CH and was going to send pleas to ArbCom, was talking about what work he was going to do when he returned after vindication. I'm certain WS was watching that whole process (because I was involved - WS has a weird obsession with my editing habits and history) and is imitating the same to some degree. That's my take on it, anyway. It's really, really best to just ignore the shenanigans and forget about his/her (never was sure if WS was a male or female). And to do so after you all read this and possibly comment again. The less we talk about them publicly, the less weird, dysfunctional satisfaction people like that get from seeing others concerning themselves with them. Like Bbb23 said, just let it go. Cheers - onward and upward! -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 18:04, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Archiving ANI
Hello. Ping Oshwah. I put it to you that this archiving was premature. Whether you think it is concluded or not, which it was not, typically 12 hours is not enough time for enough admins to be informed of the incident. Actually with legal threats the block is the last thing to consider, not the first and only thing. -- zzuuzz (talk) 20:24, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

- It is useful to leave closed discussions on the page for a while so that involved and interested editors can see how the discussion developed and how it was closed, without being mystified to find it deleted or having to go looking in the archives (and not every editor that participates at WP/AN or WP/ANI will have prior experience of using the archives). I see Lowercase sigmabot III is still archiving WP/AN according to the existing settings, which we might assume to have at least a weak and implicit consensus. Regarding socks
I've learned that it is best to allow suspected sock edits to stand until after the SPI has concluded. As well, placing tags on suspected sock accounts - especially in the case of chronic sock puppets - should be left for after the SPI has concluded. We are not obligated to notify someone of suspected sock puppetry or an SPI in progress. If we let them know they are suspected, the odds are they will stop using that account immediately and create another. Further, the more they use that account, the more technical evidence is provided for those performing the Checkuser. I know you are just trying to help, but your actions were premature and could have compromised things a bit. Wait next time, okay? -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 14:33, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Newest Member of WER
Editor Ches. Thank you so much for joining the Editor Retention project and the Editor of the Week program. As time goes on I'll share a little of the history of the project and the program and we can discuss the importance of "pats on the back". Briefly, Administrator @Dennis Brown: started WER in January of 2013, @Go Phightins!: and I joined soon after and the Editor of the Week award followed soon after that. The project has hit a bit of a lull right now but the Editor of the Week Award is still a major tool in retaining editors. Sometime on Sunday next I'll give out the next award. Who it is will show up on the Project page and the Editor of the Week page. Then, one of the simplest ways of working toward retaining an editor happens; various editors stop by and offer congratulations. Some are editors that know the awardee, but some are strangers. I hope you will take a minute to join in on the "Patting of the Back" ceremony. Anyway, Welcome Aboard. Buster Seven Talk 21:59, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

Clare Maguire Wiki
Hi Ches
Hope all is well.
The changes are being made by myself, Clare's friend and manager, as the page was full of some partially innacurate information and items that aren't as relevent to the new material . Everything that is being ammended is coming directly from the souce Clare, provides a true summary of event and is factually correct.

- Hi Dan, all is well over here thanks :-) It looks to me like you have a conflict of interest - in other words, as you know Clare Maguire personally, some of the information you have included may not be accessible to everyone else (in other words, people who do not know her) without a reliable source to back it up. Editors with a conflict of interest are discouraged from editing articles they have a close connection with. You may also wish to read the biographies of living persons essay, as one of your more severe warnings was issued for inappropriate biographical content. Hope this helps. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 11:27, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Dear Ches, you reverted back changes to Dayco article; I really don't know the reason. I fixed Lead misisng and added link to external articles. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by ER.Digital (talk • contribs) 2016-04-03
- Hello ER.Digital. I reverted your edit as you did not provide a reliable source for the information you added in the lead. It also looks to me as if the article for Dayco does not meet our notability guidelines. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 11:37, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
- Please Chesnaught555 , can you help me on understand better what you means with I not meet notability guidelines in the lead? Also, how work to fix all alerts there are on the current page? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by ER.Digital (talk • contribs) 2016-04-03
- ER.Digital, what I meant was that Dayco doesn't appear to warrant a Wikipedia article. Apart from that, I'm seeing neutral point of view issues with it - the section "Story" is written in an opinionated manner, which isn't allowed on here. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 11:46, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
- Chesnaught555 , I will work next week to fix the Story section adding more relevant elemnts on that; anyway not yet clear why doesn't appear a Wikipedia article; this is just an explation on what is Dayco company and what we do. any suggestion is welcome!
- OK, sounds good ER.Digital - I'll take a look at it myself and see if I can make the article sound neutral. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 11:54, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
- Chesnaught555 , great. Keep me posted before apply any change (if possible), so we can check together if it is fine, ok?
- Will do ER.Digital. Bear in mind you can click the star button at the top of the article to watch the page so you can keep track of any changes. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 12:19, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

- Thank you Bow bank2 for tweaking the wording. If you look on the speedy deletion notice, there is a button which says "Copyvios report". Author-blanked pages
When an author blanks a page of which he/she has been the only significant contributor (such as this edit to Shafiq Ur Rehman), especially when the page being blanked has been nominated for speedy deletion, that is generally considered a good faith effort on the author's part to delete the page. Rather than revert such edits, it is common practice to mark the page with {{db-author}} so that it will be soon deleted. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:03, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know, WikiDan61. I was on Huggle and couldn't see who had created the page, so I reverted. Of course, I am not using that an excuse. Thanks for the heads-up. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 17:04, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
Gartree High School
I'm not sure why you have removed my edits from the Gartree Hih School page. Do you have an interest? Is there something you objected to? I am in the process of citing sources, so I would be bratfeul if you could leave it alone long enough for me to get that done. I'm not an experienced wikipedia editor and it will take me a while to get these done, but I will do them. I am adding accurate material material of general interest so please give me a chance!
- Morelearning - could you support the information you added in the article with a reliable source? You had not done this within the edits I reverted. I have no interest in the school; I am simply a Huggle user. Huggle is a tool which helps with my anti-vandalism work on Wikipedia, and it was clear to me that your edits were not constructive. If you can find a reliable source for the information, feel free to add it. Thanks, --Ches (talk) (contribs) 18:35, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I appreciate you looking out for me, but I'd rather handle messages on my talk page myself (plus I don't think you can delete TP posts just for being unsigned. You should template him for it though). If you see any blatant vandalism, insults, blanking, etc. on there, feel free to deal with it as you would on any other page. Thanks again, and have a good day. - theWOLFchild 20:25, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
- It wasn't just the lack of four tildes, Thewolfchild. The user in question claimed you did not understand the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia. Nin-5H edit on Tacurong
Syudad or Dakbanwa, there are still unsure things regarding the Hiligaynon word for "city".
- Hi Nin-5H - I don't understand what you mean. Could you please explain further? --Ches (talk) (contribs) 10:19, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Chesnaught555 - I viewed the page Talk:Bacolod regarding the native Hiligaynon name for "city". It would be very confusing if others would use "dakbanwa" while others would use "syudad", which is a loanword from Spanish "ciudad". So I added both words if everything is doubtful. I am desperate to find the real Hiligaynon word for "city". (talk)
- Nin-5H - OK, absolutely fine. You may undo my edit - my apologies. I saw your user page which explained your username - I'm a LEGO fanatic myself. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 10:40, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

PS: Aki (Full Name: Akihiro Kaloy Silang-Tatsumaki) is The Gray Ninja and Elemental Master of Wind, and he is Filipino-Japanese. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!
- That sounds good, Nin-5H. Next time you get a LEGO Ninjago set, you should send in a review and ask for the Grey Ninja to be made. That would be awesome. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 08:30, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
- Why thank you Chesnaught555, but I wish to have a set because 04 days ago (April 02), it was my birthday, and I wished to have a Ninjago set but I never bought one, even though I so desired it. Very well then, about the Gray Ninja, he has curly and neck-length dark mocha hair, flawless light skin and bright gray-green eyes. He has a sanguine and dark personality and he's bisexual. Tell me if you still had time OK, but this time, let's chat on My talk page.
Revert in List of people named in the Panama Papers
I have re-reverted your revert in List of people named in the Panama Papers. I clearly provided reasons for each change in my edit summaries (here, here and here). If you are a bit confused by the last, notice that ICIJ have their report on their project page (projects.icij), as well as the exact same –100% identical– on their Panama papers subpage (panamapapers.icij). Mistakes happen, and I can only assume this is what happened in your revert of me, but please do be careful when reverting, especially as WP:Huggle is for vandalism (even if you disagreed with some, none of my edits could be classified as vandalism, and 1 was removal of obvious vandalism). Regards, 62.107.210.77 (talk) 11:07, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for your message 62.107.210.77. Huggle isn't only for vandalism, contrary to what you may think, hence why I tagged my revert as "Introducing factual errors" - I'm aware that there are several issues with the article concerning living people, and my revert was a preventative measure. Thank you for explaining your edits; I do not object to mine being reverted. Have a good day. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 12:17, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Sacramento Kings
First of all, I apologize for getting testy in the past on this subject. Sometimes you forget that there is a real person on the other side.
As to myself, I have done extensive research on the origin of sports teams. (Doesn't mean I can't be wrong sometimes). However, there is a tendency for teams and even for leagues to alter their "official" history. For example, baseball does not recognize the National Association of 1871-1875 as a "major" league. They have all types of justifications for this, but it really boils down to the fact that the National League (formed in 1876) wants to be thought of as the first major league. Another good example are the Los Angeles Lakers who don't mind claiming the Minneapolis Lakers history (where they won five championships) but totally ignore the fact that the Minneapolis Lakers were a transferred franchise formerly known as the Detroit Gems who had the worst record in league history. Until recently, the NBA often has ignored the history of teams before they entered the NBA or the BAA. As noted in the rest of the Kings wikipedia article, they go back to 1923 where they started off as a company team. The article totally ignores their 1946 NBL championship. The Association for Professional Basketball Research has done a pretty good job tracing the origin of the current NBA teams. http://www.apbr.org/ In case your curious, there are independent research organizations for football and baseball as well. They tend to be more reliable than the professional leagues and teams themselves. As they say, "History is written by the victors." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.203.153.72 (talk) 17:00, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

With all due respect, but I urge you to reconsider your support of the motion brought forth by OpenFuture. I am a constructive contributor that accidentally got caught up in a web. Per WP:STATUSQUO, I asked two other editors if they could review the situation and potentially restore the status quo pending discussion. I did not attempt to game the system. I have no personal crusade and all I want to do is help the project. As a fellow editor with a mental issue (WP:OCD), I would hope that you could gain some further understanding. This situation is really personally worrying for me. Thank-you.--Neve–selbert 22:10, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
- Neve-selbert, being on the Autism spectrum is not a "mental issue". It's a difference in neurology. That said, being on the Autism spectrum can color and affect editing in Wikipedia just as having OCD can do the same, causing issues with other editors. Editor of the Week : nominations needed!
The Editor of the Week initiative has been recognizing editors since 2013 for their hard work and dedication. Editing Wikipedia can be disheartening and tedious at times; the weekly Editor of the Week award lets its recipients know that their positive behaviour and collaborative spirit is appreciated. The response from the honorees has been enthusiastic and thankful.
The list of nominees is running short, and so new nominations are needed for consideration. Have you come across someone in your editing circle who deserves a pat on the back for improving article prose regularly, making it easier to understand? Or perhaps someone has stepped in to mediate a contentious dispute, and did an excellent job. Do you know someone who hasn't received many accolades and is deserving of greater renown? Is there an editor who does lots of little tasks well, such as cleaning up citations?
Please help us thank editors who display sustained patterns of excellence, working tirelessly in the background out of the spotlight, by submitting your nomination for Editor of the Week today!

Can we talk about Huggle?
I’m reaching out to you because our logs tell us you’re a highly active Huggle user (top 20, actually). The Wikimedia Collaboration Team is researching a project that we hope will be useful to people who use Huggle and others engaged in edit-review and anti-vandalism. Using artificial intelligence programming (in ORES) and other means, we believe we can create feeds of Recent Changes that are better tailored to the type of work you do, helping you to be more effective and efficient. (The technology will have other benefits as well, which we can talk about.)
We're in the early stages of planning this and want to speak with people like yourself to better understand your work, goals and issues. If you’re interested in helping, I’d like to set up a time to meet by video conference, so that you can explain and demonstrate (via screensharing) some of your workflows, and we can ask and answer any questions.
To participate, please email the following information to me, jmatazzoni wikimedia.org, or send it to designresearch wikimedia.org:

The article on Ron Gostick
I removed the quotation from David Lethbridge because it is a purely personal and highly subjective observation from a little-known person involved in a political organization (the Communist Party of Canada) that is extremely marginal, as confirmed by its minimal vote totals election after election since at least the 1950s. The fact that the observation is very likely true is not the point. The comment sticks out like a sore thumb in what is otherwise a neutral and factual account, strongly suggesting it was inserted by someone other than the original author of the article. If anything, it could do a great disservice to the truth by creating the false impression that it is only or mainly a very marginal group at one end of the political spectrum that believes Gostick was an extremist. I would therefore suggest you reconsider your decision to restore the text I deleted and leave the facts in the article to speak for themselves. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.21.23.206 (talk) 16:43, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- 190.21.23.206, terminology such as "rightists" contradicts our policy on neutral points of view. Please do not make any more edits which violate this. Zerotalk 16:47, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Perhaps you could also reply to the main issue regarding the quotation from David Lethbridge. Note also that many Wikipedia pages use the word "rightist". However, I'm quite happy to avoid it. Ironically, though, the Wikipedia entry on refers to "far-right meetings". Isn't that also a violation of Wikipedia policy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.21.23.206 (talk) 19:13, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Maintenance areas
Hi. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. We appreciate your enthusiasm but while we encourage the participation of younger users, a review of your contribs at Top 10 Most Edited Pages by Namespace may suggest that you might be participating in meta areas that are not strictly appropriate for users with little experience, particularly when they are not directly involved with the issues under discussion. However, Wikipedia needs serious help with combating vandalism (see WP:CVU) and with the huge backlog at New Page Patrol (but you must perfectly understand WP:NPP). If you would like to help in these areas, don't hesitate to contact me if you need any advice. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:50, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Kudpung - thanks for your message. I'm a little confused as to what you mean, could you please explain further? By the way, I use Huggle so am very active in CVU work. Thanks, Zerotalk 15:32, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- I'm basically trying to understandwhy you appear to be more concerbed with the behavioural issues of editors rater than expanding the content of te encyclopedia. Generally, those areas are supported by editors with significantly more experience and judgment.Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 22:15, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @Patient Zero:, Just a thought, if you're doing NPP to look for vandalism to revert, why not install and use STiki? I use this to help eliminate vandalism. If you don't use it already, its pretty easy to use. I can show you around if you'd like. I never got to grips with Huggle myself, its quite slow on a Mac. Class455 (talk) 23:30, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- Kudpung, I essentially do both. If you'd like me to stop commenting on AN/I, I am completely up for a de facto ban from there. Class455: I did try and install STiki once, but my computer (Windows 10, 12.5 inch notebook) is a pain and won't let me open it. I've always preferred Huggle since it's quite a simple tool. So, Kudpung, would it be advisable for me to carry on with Huggle and the anti-vandalism work for the next year or so, and step away from any notice boards or talk pages aside from user talk, where I have to give out warnings? Zerotalk 07:21, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
- I have no authority to ban you from management/maintenance areas. I'm just pointing oput that when I see relatively, new, young, or inexperienced users making a bee line for the meta areas before considering first building the content, it gives me pause. Some people think I'm nuts to worry about it but it has exposed many users who were here for the wrong reasons and someone has to to do it. When users run at RfA, for example, I tend to take a negative opinion on users who appear to be working towards adminship. I'm absolutely not suggesting that that is the case here, but it's worth mentioning. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:31, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, I understand now Kudpung. Thing is, I'm not a prolific content creator, and I've always preferred a more behind-the-scenes role here, hence why I use Huggle. What I'll do now is restrict myself to the following namespaces: User, User talk, Article, and finally Article talk. Would that be advisable? That way I can revert vandalism, interact with users who are engaging in vandalism through templated warnings, and discuss changes that need to be made to articles. This will be until October 16, 2017 - my 18th birthday. EDIT - I'd also like to use AIV and UAA, so I can report certain users for vandalism or inappropriate names. These will be the only pages under the namespace Wikipedia: that I will edit. What do you think sir? Zerotalk 09:30, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

- i'm impressed with your perception of these issues. I don't think there's any need to restrict yourself from any where until you are 18 - It won't happen agai, but I believe our youngest admin was 12 ! Perhaps stay off ANI and ARBCOM unless you are directly involved, but your help everywhere else would be greatly appreciated, especially at WP:NPP if you have thoroughly read the tutorial and regularly what's going on at WT:NPP.
