Boogaloo (freestyle dance)

edit

Hello Patis! Thanks for your article, I've moved it to the title Boogaloo (freestyle dance). I've added the suggestion on top of the article that it might be merged with the article on Electric boogaloo (dance), but it is just a suggestion. If you are of the opinion that these are sufficiently different topics you may of course remove the template from these articles. Happy editing! :) – Thjarkur (talk) 14:21, 31 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Thjarkur! Thank you for your approval. I was wondering if it's possible to change the qualifying (freestyle dance) to "Boogaloo (dance)"? Or, if that does not differentiate the topic enough, would it be possible to change it to "Boogaloo (funk dance)"? My concern is "freestyle dance" might confuse readers to thinking it's a dance done to the genre of Freestyle Music, not the early Funk-bassed dance.

Re: the merge discussion, although there's research to support a shared lineage with "electric boogaloo" and the earlier Boogaloo forms in the article, there could be other editors who have concluded "electric boogaloo" completely starts with one person and is distinctively different a different dance. That being said, I hope to keep the discussion template up to see other people's recommendations, thank you for thinking this through! Cheers. PatisOne (talk) 06:07, 3 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Thanks for creating Boogaloo (funk dance).

User:Doomsdayer520 while examining this page as a part of our page curation process had the following comments:

Thank you for your new article on the Boogaloo. Note that someone has suggested that this article be merged into the older Electric boogaloo (dance). Not much is required on your part because whoever made that recommendation should have discussed their reasoning on your article's Talk page, but they have not so far.

@Doomsdayer520: Thank you so much for reviewing my article. Yes, I am aware of the merge suggestion and shared my thoughts with the editor and welcome any discussions on the topic. I hope my article continues to improve in quality and in importance. Thanks for your help again PatisOne (talk) 06:23, 7 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Asian Breakbeat

edit

Hello PatisOne, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Asian Breakbeat, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Asian Breakbeat.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Bastun}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

@Bastun: Hi Bastun, thank you for this update. I know the article is an initial start with a larger draft that I am preparing regarding historic origins, its cultural reach that had U.S. regional presence and had a large digital footprint that can be found in internet archives. Would that information be helpful to share to the AfD page?
Thanks
PatisOne (talk) 05:17, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi PatisOne, yes, definitely. If there's more to add to the article so that it satisfies WP:SIGCOV, then I'd have no problem recommending a 'Keep'. I would suggest that in future, though, you create articles in WP:DRAFTSPACE, then use the WP:AFC process to have them reviewed and moved to mainspace - that would prevent articles being nominated for deletion or merge when it initially looks like they don't meet our guidelines. Please ping me when you make the additions. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 13:24, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi again, thank you for the tips as I needed that refresher. PatisOne (talk) 04:15, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Asian Breakbeat moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Asian Breakbeat. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and I have withdrawn the nomination for deletion, and instead moved the article to draft space. Please develop it there and then use the WP:AFC process when it's ready for moving to main article space.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 12:10, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
