Hi Brian, I have you now, I thought it might be yourself. I'm back living in Galway now, designing and developing wired and wireless vision systems at CEL. The website isn't the most informative, but the R&D is cutting edge. I was in the magnetotellurics group over in GFZ in Potsdam, got the Ph.D., did GSM, ISDN and Bluetooth at AVM in Berlin, supercomputing at Compaq in Galway and then went to CEL initially to do wireless design and subsequently complete system design and development on vision systems. I've designed vision systems for Land Rover Range Rover and others and I'm currently working on a powerful system for BMW. Also, I'm working closely with NUIG Electronic Engineering Dept. Cool stuff indeed. Most importantly, I'm living in a wonderful place with a beautiful wife and two children. Very nice stuff, Patrick! I'm over in Washington DC, working as a astronomy postdoc at GMU on extragalactic star formation, sounds exotic doesn't it?! Moved here 2 years ago, after finishing up my Ph.D. at UCD. Even lectured for a short while at Maynooth, most of the usual suspects are still there! Wikipedia is great - glad to see another Carrick native here, and another pair of hands to revert malicious edits! What's on my user page is actually a quote from User:Rcpaterson, quoting Wittenstein on the Oliver Cromwell talk page. I had never heard of the guy previously and have never read his works. Hi,

The proposed quote is the actual one that Wittgenstein used, the one that you have on your site is not really German, but a close phonetic version. I wouldn't have mentioned it at all except I'm a German speaker and it was the only line on your user page, so I thought it would help to mention it. I agree, it is a good quote for wikipedians, although something like the following might do the trick too :-) :

That which we cannot speak of, we must pass over in silence, at least on the Article pages. But all the rest can go into Discussion pages!

Wittgenstein was the shining star of a movement called the Logical Positivists, which had some good stuff to say, as well as a lot of self-defeating waffle, but that quote of his was good. Re: my user page

Hey there! It was an edit which didn't have any effect on the content of your userpage - it was done so that your page got 'refreshed' on the server - it was still being categorised in a category that was removed. By refreshing your page, it cleared this category problem. The server automatically removes blank spaces at the top of articles, so you won't be able to find any difference in your userpage code.
