I am ACM SIGWEB Chair elected by ACM SIGWEB members. It our content on sigweb.org page and it is not copyrighted by us. As creators, we believe that we can use it (besides, you can see it is not really copied, we edited it for Wikipedia purposes. At ACM SIGWEB we are really concerned that someone fights all our attempts to create a meaningful page for SIGWEB. We tried to start several times and each time different users or editors editors just cut what we do piece by piece until just a stub left again. Each time different reasons are cited but the result is the same. This time it is you and the cited reason is copyright issue, which, from our point (i.e., SIGWEB) is not a real issue it is all content created by us and placed by us on our community page. We are the authors. I understand your concerns - but please, check again whether it is valid in our case. I appreciate your time - you wrote a detailed explanations so apparently you care. Before that, things were removed and no explanations were given even. Just see the page history. Could you help is to create a page that had a chance to survive? It is really becoming frustrating. I have been editing WIkipedia for many years and engaged my students to create Wikipedia pages - at that time it is worked, but in the last few years it becomes really cruel. What can we do to get the page out? We have SIGWEB members who remembered that there was a page and asking where it is now. So I got back and tried to create it afresh... Thank you for your interest in working on Wikipedia. There are a couple of problems with your submission. You cannot post copyright material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. (Under current copyright law, literary works are subject to copyright whether they are tagged as such or not. No registration is required, and no copyright notice is required. In other words, all material that has been published online is copyright, whether it is marked as such or not.) Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, and all content must have the appropriate licensing documentation in place before that can happen. Please see Wikipedia:donating copyrighted materials which explains how it works.

The second problem is conflict of interest. Writing an article about your own organisation or that of a client is strongly discouraged, as it is difficult to maintain the required neutral point of view. I am not sure why the page on International Conference on Intelligent Tutoring Systems is marked for deletion. It is the oldest conference in a very active field of Artificial Intelligent in Education. Thousands attended this conference including many top ranked researchers. It is the real very important event. Suddently it is marked for deletion, there was no real discussion and stakeholders were not invited to be a part of it. I created this page a while ago because it was a clear hole in Wikipedia - otherwise I have no stake myself. Not a chair, not an organizer. I am a big supporter of Wikipedia, contribute money, engage students in my classes in contributing to Wikipedia, and create missing pages when I have time. But over the last few years, I am meeting very harsh reaction to all my actions and I am not sure what I can do as a community contributor, not a professional editor. Is Wikipedia still a community encyclopedia or rues has changed? Explanations what I can do would be much appreciated. Pbrusilovsky (talk) 15:29, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
