Changes I have made:

1. In respect to the section “Schooling”

Paragraph 3, and the sentence starting with “In much of the research to date, school connectedness has occasionally been used anonymously”….

“Anonymously” seems like an odd word choice so I have modified this sentence.

2. Reference number [26 ?] was wrong and should be removed as it was not related (I have checked this). It does not mention anything related to the page or belonging. I think it is an error. It has been replaced with more accurate and updated citations. These are recent references published in good peer-reviewed sources.

3. For this sentence: There are a number of similar concepts centered around school belonging, including school bonding, student engagement, school attachment, school community, school climate, orientation to school, and school connectedness”

A reference was added

4. This sentence: “School is a student's attachment to their school” should say “School belonging is a student’s…

The word “belonging” was missing

5. This section has not been appropriately credited:

“A large number of variables have been found to be significantly associated with school belonging. This has made it difficult to present a theoretical model of school belonging. A comprehensive meta-analysis [27] uncovered 10 themes that influence school belonging at the student level during adolescence in educational settings: Academic motivation Emotional stability Personal characteristics Parent support Teacher support Peer support Gender, race and ethnicity Extracurricular activities Environmental/school safety”

5. this whole section has also not been cited correctly:

At school, students are a part of a greater whole influenced by both formal and informal groupings, and overarching systems that are common and typically represented within all schools. Thus, school belonging can be conceptualized as a multi-layered, socio-ecological phenomena, consisting of several interacting layers X. The socio-ecological framework of school belonging is depicted in the figure X.

The innermost layer of the construct is the individual level. This describes the unique student characteristics that contribute to the sense of belonging, including personality and mental health X. The micro-system refers to network an individual has that are informal, such as family, friends, teachers, and peers with whom the student interacts with. The mesosystem refers to organisational factors, including school resources, processes, policies, rules and practices. The exosystem refers to the broader school community. Finally, the macro-system involves the legislation, history and social climate of a society. This socio-ecological framework has been developed from empirical studies, and provides schools with a thorough direction in which to foster school belonging X

I have inserted the correct citation and captioned the figure which was not cited either.

I made a couple of edits to the intro where I could see there was some difficulty. ---Comments added by User:Pea Crisp

Thanks, Pea Crisp
I made some edits:
  • Putting the punctuation at the end of the sentence, rather than after the citation.
  • I formatted the doi using {{doi}}.
  • And, removed extra spaces
Then, I copied over the updated content, and added {{cn}} tags for the many places where citations are still needed. Hopefully someone whose been working on the article can add them.
