I have reverted your most recent contributions because your edit destroyed the inline citations, wikilinks and article categorisation, all important features of Wikipedia. I found it too difficult to determine exactly what you had changed to fix these issues. Perhaps you could try again, in smaller steps. help with footnotes

I can't figure out how to enter a parenthetical reference with author-date referencing in the APA style. See Sandbox. @Derek Andrews: Talk. Peter Dawson MD MPH 17:40, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Peter, what you have in your sandbox looks ok to me. I'm no expert on reference styles, but I think what you are looking for is Template:Sfnp. There are others, listed in Category:Author–date citation templates. Although we don't seem to have a hard and fast rule for citation style, I would also refer you to Help:Overview of referencing styles and our style manual. I would add that I have never seen a reference in the (author, date) format in the body of an article; we always use the 'ref' markup which creates a number that links to the appropriate item in the References section. Finally, do you have Wikipedia:RefToolbar/2.0 enabled? This is a handy tool for referencing as it ensures a consistent style, checks formats, and best of all it can auto-fill many fields if you supply an isbn or doi. Thanks for your comments. I decided to use Wikipedia:RefToolbar/2.0 just as it comes and not worry about author-date citations. I'll look it over once more. Does the article now look OK?

If it's going to be judged in terms of writing and importance, I'd like someone to think about the right category, as it's really about child development, not medical issues.

The referencing looks fine. Feel free to add or remove categories as you see fit. The final paragraph reads rather like an advert, WP:NOTADVERTISING. The lead section would benefit from dates for the introduction of the two tests; it should also include a better summary of the whole article, rather than just being an introduction to Denver II. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section. I would also suggest that a section be added solely about the original test, perhaps with more details about its failings and need for change. As it stands, it might be criticized for not strictly being about what the title says it is. It also needs wikilinks to other related articles. Our style manual prefers leading zeros on decimals less than 1 MOS:DECIMAL. Derek Andrews (talk) 00:28, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

three more questions

Derek, thanks for your advice. Plz let me know what you think of what I've done. I have three questions: 1) I'd like to add an 's' to the title so that it reads "Denver Developmental Screening Tests." How do I get to the title? 2) I found three related articles in Wikipedia. How do I add their links? 3) I found one external link to add: "www.healthychildren.org." How do I add the bullet?Peter Dawson MD MPH 22:54, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Peter, I will take a look at the article tomorrow. In the meantime:-

1. To change a page title, you 'move' it to another page, see WP:MOVE.
2. See Help:Link; two square brackets around the page title will do it; you can modify the text of the link if needed with the pipe character.
3. An asterisk at the start of a line makes a bullet point. Format for external link markup is described in 2.
