Your edits at Peter Rees (producer)

edit

I have reverted your edits at Peter Rees (producer) as they completely destroyed the article. This sort of change is inappropriate and, if you are indeed Peter Rees, you should not be editing the article as you have a clear conflict of interest. Please be very careful about this, at another article the subject of the article has been indefinitely blocked only yesterday because of the disruptive edits made to her article. --AussieLegend () 07:36, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Don't remove sourced content in that manner. It appears well-sourced. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 07:42, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits

edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 07:53, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Advice

edit
Peter rees tv, if by the time you read this, you still have significant complaints about the article on Peter Rees, please read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Help. This explains the options to you and Wikipedia's policies about the biographies of living persons. You can complain to the Wikimedia Foundation's team of volunteers. Please e-mail them at info-en-q@wikimedia.org with a link to the article in question and specific details of the problem. This cannot and will not be resolved on Wikipedia itself if you are still reserving the right to take legal action, and are subsequently blocked for that. For more information on how to complain, see here. See here for how to contact the Foundation. They will need to have proof from the email address that you actually are Peter Rees or his authorized agent. This is for your protection to make sure that the person claiming to be you actually is. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 16:12, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Username block

edit

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Peter rees tv, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Please note that the basic reason for this block is that you say you're Peter Rees (producer). Looking at your edits, I believe that you're telling the truth, but without proof, it's not safe for you to use this username. Our impersonation policy provides for blocking accounts with famous people's names, specifically because anyone can register a username and claim falsely to be a famous person; we don't want some random Joe Bloggs coming along and claiming to be you. This block is completely unrelated to your actions: I'm not complaining that you've broken some rule or another, and I'd really like to see this resolved. This can easily be resolved Use an "official" email (one that's associated with you professionally) to info-en wikimedia.org saying basically I am Peter Rees, the subject of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Rees_(producer), and I am also the person using https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Peter_rees_tv. If you do this, you will soon be unblocked. If you have any questions, feel free to email me: go to Special:Emailuser/Nyttend and fill out the message, and I'll receive it and do my best to help. Nyttend (talk) 22:14, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your email. I'm glad that the note came off as I hoped it would — I'm always nervous when writing such a message to people in your situation, since I didn't want you to think that I was trying to get rid of you, but I wanted to demonstrate that the email really did need to be sent. Your email will go through our OTRS system, where it will be read and archived privately by a volunteer; I don't have access to the OTRS system, so I can't perform that task. OTRS can be backlogged sometimes, so I can't promise a response in any specific period of time, but the last time I was working with someone in your position, an OTRS volunteer archived and acted on the email within a day. If you have any questions (either before or after the OTRS volunteer comes around), feel free to ask me, and I'll do my best to help. Nyttend (talk) 02:57, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I'd like to add that if you do intend to continue editing, you might consider a change of username to Peter Rees. As well as being more appropriate capitalisation, registering that username will prevent anyone else from impersonating you using your actual name. --AussieLegend () 06:26, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
