editHello, I'm Melcous. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Bain family murders, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Hi again, sorry I reverted your edit before I saw your message on my talk page. Please don't take offence by that, just means there is still some work to do before it can be included. Wikipedia has a policy that no original research can be included, which includes drawing a conclusion from a source that is not explicitly there. So the reference you need is just not one to the email, but one that actually says that the email was a factor in Collins' decision. If you have that, then there is no issue with referencing/original research - but you might then hear from other editors about whether they think it belongs in the article! Cheers, Melcous (talk) 11:41, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
Edit Warring
editHi Peter. Counterspin is not a reliable source so can't be used at the Bain family murders article. Another editor has also disagreed with this information. What you are doing is WP:edit warring to get this information included. If you want to include it you need to make your case at the talk page. Then editors will discuss it and if there is consensus to add it, it can be added. There is a bright line rule where you can make no more than 3 reverts in a 24 hour period, you are one edit away from breaking this. You can consider this a warning.
