WP Filmmakers

Thanks I was almost getting around to you!!!! I mentioned the tagging so when you tag an article it would be e.g {{WPFILMMAKERS|director =yes |class=start|importance=high but this by default would put the article in the releavnt categories for Filmmaker project and Biography project. Model page for WikiProject Film Bio started

I have started a page model for the new project User:Ernst Stavro Blofeld/Film biography page model. Please note that it is still in its infancy stage and the templates have not been fully completed. THis is how I'd like the page to look but with an adaption of the task side plate further to incorprate film and biography goals on wikipedia. That would be a great idea. Also feel free to modify the initial sidebar. This will take a significant amount of time to set up, but I feel step-by-step this will become official and grow into a major project in no time at all... I definitely think the info box should be changed to infobox film bio. As with films I'd like to see an info box for every film-bio article - it looks much more professional and like the article is taken care of better. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ ^{"I've been expecting you"} 18:54, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi,

I see that you're an editor of Template:Infobox actor. Would you be interested in helping to add the hCard microformat (see also Wikipedia:WikiProject_Microformats) to that? No, this IS the correct kind of content for Wikipedia. This was featured in papers throughout Scotland as seen here and I doubt you can really argue with the fact that it CAN be included. It is not a general use for shoutcast, since it is a separate statistics program. In fact, the only notability it has is that it was created by a student. I have moved it to EL for now, where someone more informed about SHOUTcast addon programs can decide if it is appropriate or not for the article. Additional parameter...

Is it too much to ask for an additional parameter in the {{film|class=stub}} template, so that in non film articles (such as awards and other general film topic stubs) it doesn't display the upgrading info? Hoverfish Talk 23:48, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

I asked Nehrams and he is in agreement that we simply make this pseudo-class. It will be just so that if we enter in the field class=NF stub, on the one hand it will still display as Class=stub and will still assign the usual stub (talk page) category to the article, and on the other it will not display the upgrading info. If I understand it right, that#s what you meant, and I think it should be only an extra line in the template source. Hoverfish Talk 20:52, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Charles and Claudette

Who would have thought Claudette Colbert would be such a contraversial subject - and now Charles Boyer. Actually, he's been on the Boyer page before. I objected to the romantic wording of Boyer's marriage was "as romantic as his movies" and changed it several times, only to be reverted. I think that must be how it was written in the book it was copied from. It's a very single minded attitude, but have you noticed that the IPs|users fight amongst themselves? One objects to comments about Colbert's sexuality, for example, but another puts it back in etc. Clearly all the work of the same editor. It's all very odd. Rossrs 07:00, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

OK maybe just a differentiation between one or two maybe its best to keep it simple -there is often a considrable overlap any -e.g many actors like CLint Eastwood are also directors and producers too I believe . Possible yes, but I think it's big enough. WikiProjects have to be careful in the current climate, there's growing disquiet (again) about talk page clutter and oversized templates. So far WPBio has largely gone uncriticised, let's keep it that way. --kingboyk 11:50, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
