If anybody (other than Ian) reads this page, then do you know if you are meant to use piped links to avoid linking to a redirect page, or is it policy to go to the redirect to avoid using piped links?--PhiJ 12:53, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

OH Just found out about the helpme tag. Means I might get help on this one!--PhiJ 20:27, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is generally policy to use a piped link to point directly to the context of the particular link in question. -Dawson 20:46, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) Yep, that you may... I'm not sure I understand your question completly; generally it's better to link to whatever makes the most sense in context; use a piped link if the link text is not a synonym for the target, use (or make) a redirect if it is. That's my understanding, at least. Hope this helps. JesseW, the juggling janitor 20:48, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm interested how you came to know about this apparent hoax for 'Simon Cutmore', seems like a fairly obscure thing Feebtlas 14:31, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

One of my mates was telling a group of us about it. His cousin made it, or was involved in making it I think. We all had a laugh, but then I thought, I'd better get that deleted. --PhiJ 14:38, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

request to ban anon user

edit

Hi, do you have the authority to ban user: 165.138.120.151? He vandalised Kobe Bryant after you warned him he'd be banned if he did it again.. thanks..--203.214.91.5 16:21, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about the slow reply, I won't be coming on wikipedia much until the end of June. I can't block him, only administrators can, but if he does it again, you can put them on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism and they can do the ban. --PhiJ 11:13, 17 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

You not got one of these yet?

Sorry to see you getting blocked because of your school. I would unblock, but it's going to expire soon anyway. Petros471 11:29, 17 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Its fine, and fair enough: I've looked at the edit history of the I.P. and it is pretty terrible! --PhiJ 10:22, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Answering your question...

edit

Well, If you look at the pages history or my own contrtibutions you will find that the Redirection page was a mistaken title and i moved the page to its proper heading if you are still unclear let me know

The main purpose of that redirection was to redirect Niccolo Copernicus to Nicolaus Copernicus since Niccolo is a name that is also used to refer to this particular person.--Pfc Ender 19:09, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

A further note. Go ahead and nominate it for removal and i will look into the issue my self

Cool. Will do. --PhiJ 19:12, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

O and I noticed you nominated it and i noticed you used an improper template so i replaced it with a redirect deletion template so you know.--Pfc Ender 19:19, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

At [1] seems to have accidentally vandalised the page. Think you can fix it? 00:42, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

I've fixed it. All deleted text has been restored to WP:RFD. -- ADNghiem501 03:29, 15 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Oops! Sorry about that. CYBERsitter often decides to remove naughty words that I am sending to the internet. --PhiJ 14:40, 17 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Phij spiders have taken over the world now. It's because you deleted the picture of Africa. I'm disappointed. --TD 19:22, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
