Recent edit to List of newspapers in the United Kingdom
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your recent edit to List of newspapers in the United Kingdom added the name of an apparently non-notable entity. In general, a person or organization added to a list should have a pre-existing article to establish notability. If you wish to create such an article, please confirm that your subject is notable according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you! Cowlibob (talk) 09:31, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
Hi - Ref the above - Security News Desk is widely quoted throughout the global security industry and is used as a Source for the likes of the BBC - this should verify its credibility and notability. See Link: http://www.securitynewsdesk.com/2013/09/06/video-bbc-world-news-cctv-debate/

editPlease do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Online newspaper. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, PhilipIngram65. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article List of newspapers in the United Kingdom, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 11:26, 14 November 2014 (UTC)

editHello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. NeilN talk to me 14:12, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. You've been told about conflict of interest, please do not add material about yourself, any websites you are affiliated with, etc to artcles
editAs you did at Poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal. Doug Weller talk 15:47, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
I havent been told anything - I have had no communications regarding the Skripals post and as I am a commentator for RT, BBC, Daily Telegraph, Saturday Telegraph, Sunday Mirror on that case - I am more than qualified to give an expert opinion. Nothing in the Sun Tzu post was affiliated to anything to do with me.... I have written about Sun Tzu separately as I have studied his teachings for over 35 years!
- Of course you've been told about conflict of interest, there's a big section above titled "Managing a conflict of interest", which applies to anything you've written. Wikipedia articles must reflect verifiable reliably published sources. The Daily Mail,[1] Russia Today, and Grey Hare fail those criteria. Doug Weller talk 15:52, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
What about the Sun Tzu stuff you took down - where is the inaccuracy or conflict of interest there?
