Dear Pierre,
Welcome to Wikipedia. I am sorry that the first thing you wrote was immediately nominated for deletion, but we take the task of writing an encyclopaedia seriously and a necessary though ugly part is to weed out articles that are not fit. However, I'm sure that statistical literacy is a subject that has attracted quite some research so it should be possible to write a proper article about it. It would be very helpful if you could find some references (e.g. newspaper articles or columns) that statistical illiteracy is indeed a problem.
If you have any questions about Wikipedia at all (and everybody has them, because Wikipedia is a complicated place), please feel free to ask me on User talk:Jitse Niesen. I hope that you can continue improving the article and that you enjoy doing so.
À bientôt.

A month ago, I recommended this article for deletion. I just wanted to compliment you on the excellent work you've done on it- it's come such a long way! You've developed the idea, verified sources, and created a valuable addition to Wikipedia. I'm glad you stuck around and made this article work. -FisherQueen 19:48, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
