Template editor granted

Your account has been granted the "templateeditor" user permission, allowing you to edit templates and modules that have been protected with template protection. It also allows you to bypass the title blacklist, giving you the ability to create and edit editnotices. Before you use this user right, please read Wikipedia:Template editor and make sure you understand its contents. In particular, you should read the section on wise template editing and the criteria for revocation.

You can use this user right to perform maintenance, answer edit requests, and make any other simple and generally uncontroversial edits to templates, modules, and edinotices. You can also use it to enact more complex or controversial edits, after those edits are first made to a test sandbox, and their technical reliability as well as their consensus among other informed editors has been established. If you are willing to process edit requests on templates and modules, keep in mind that you are taking responsibility to ensure the edits have consensus and are technically sound.

This user right gives you access to some of Wikipedia's most important templates and modules; it is critical that you edit them wisely and that you only make edits that are backed up by consensus. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

If you were granted the permission on a temporary basis you will need to re-apply for the permission a few days before it expires including in your request a permalink to the discussion where it was granted and a {{ping}} for the administrator who granted the permission. You can find the permalink in your rights log.

Your BRFA

Hi Pkbwcgs, 2 of your bot tasks have been approved. Please wait until your bot "bot flagging" has been completed by a bureaucrat to begin the runs. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 16:44, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

@Xaosflux: Thanks. Pkbwcgs (talk) 16:49, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

Template:Infobox university

Hi Pkbwcgs. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate your work merging Template:Infobox academic division to Template:Infobox university, but this is very high usage infobox so every mistake you make is reflected on tens of thousands of articles. Wouldn't it be better to work on the sandbox? Just a suggestion. --Muhandes (talk) 12:51, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018

Hello Pkbwcgs/Archive,

Reviewer of the Year

This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.

Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.

See also the list of top 100 reviewers.

Less good news, and an appeal for some help

The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.

Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019

At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.

Training video

Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

Your bot's edits

Hi. Recently, this edit your bot made showed up on my watchlist, and I noticed that the edit was not flagged as being made by a bot. Was that intentional? Happy holidays, --DannyS712 (talk) 15:53, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

@DannyS712: My bot has the bot flag. See here. It is flagged as a bot in the recent changes. Pkbwcgs (talk) 15:56, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
@Pkbwcgs: this specific edit did not show up as a bot edit, as far as I can tell. --DannyS712 (talk) 16:00, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
@DannyS712: There are bots on my watchlist as well. If you enable the "human (not bot)" filter on your watchlist, it should take my bot away from your watchlist. Please tell me if it doesn't. Pkbwcgs (talk) 16:05, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
@Pkbwcgs: I had that enabled already, but now its gone... must have been a glitch on my end. --DannyS712 (talk) 16:08, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
