AWB tagging issues?

See [1] and main articles, thanks Hhkohh (talk) 16:58, 7 October 2018 (UTC)

@Hhkohh: No, because the title of the nomination is Template:2018 Asian Games men's 3-on-3 basketball game A2 so there are no issues. Pkbwcgs (talk) 16:59, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
When transcluding A10, it says The template below (2018 Asian Games men's 3-on-3 basketball game A2) is being considered for deletion. See templates for discussion to help reach a consensus Hhkohh (talk) 17:02, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
@Hhkohh: Don't worry, I will fix it immediately using AWB. Pkbwcgs (talk) 17:03, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
@Hhkohh: I can confirm that I have now fixed them all. Pkbwcgs (talk) 17:25, 7 October 2018 (UTC)

Template editor granted

Your account has been granted the "templateeditor" user permission, allowing you to edit templates and modules that have been protected with template protection. It also allows you to bypass the title blacklist, giving you the ability to create and edit editnotices. Before you use this user right, please read Wikipedia:Template editor and make sure you understand its contents. In particular, you should read the section on wise template editing and the criteria for revocation.

You can use this user right to perform maintenance, answer edit requests, and make any other simple and generally uncontroversial edits to templates, modules, and edinotices. You can also use it to enact more complex or controversial edits, after those edits are first made to a test sandbox, and their technical reliability as well as their consensus among other informed editors has been established. If you are willing to process edit requests on templates and modules, keep in mind that you are taking responsibility to ensure the edits have consensus and are technically sound.

This user right gives you access to some of Wikipedia's most important templates and modules; it is critical that you edit them wisely and that you only make edits that are backed up by consensus. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

If you were granted the permission on a temporary basis you will need to re-apply for the permission a few days before it expires including in your request a permalink to the discussion where it was granted and a {{ping}} for the administrator who granted the permission. You can find the permalink in your rights log.

Template:2018 Commonwealth Games Basketball Schedule

Hi Pkbwcgs. I noticed your recent nomination for deletion of Template:2018 Commonwealth Games Basketball Schedule. All the other templates in Category:2018 Commonwealth Games schedule templates are also single use. Do you have any objection to me adding all the other templates in the category to the nomination? DH85868993 (talk) 08:46, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

@DH85868993: I have no objection. Pkbwcgs (talk) 08:48, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. I've added the other templates to the nomination. DH85868993 (talk) 09:17, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

TFD closures

You are closing TFDs early. While technically speaking they are available for closing 168 hours after nomination, please do not close discussions until they end up on this page. Thank you. Primefac (talk) 18:03, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

@Primefac: Understood. Next time, I won't close TfD discussions until they end up on Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Old unclosed discussions. However, I know that some admins are also doing closures without the discussions coming onto Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Old unclosed discussions. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:04, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
Also, XFDCloser has messed up when closing a deletion discussion just now so all the nominated pages won't be automatically tagged for speedy deletion. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:07, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
If there is an issue with the closing script, you should provide an accurate/detailed description of what you did (or what didn't happen) so that it can be looked into. As for admins closing early - that's their prerogative. As a non-admin closer, you should wait until the pages hit the Old page. Primefac (talk) 19:01, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
@Primefac: I was closing this discussion with XFDCloser and it managed to close the discussion, list the templates at the holding cell and tag their talk pages for deletion but it didn't tag all the templates for deletion. There were fifteen templates for deletion and XFDCloser only tagged one and didn't tag the other fourteen. Also, is it okay to close a discussion with unanimous consensus (five or more users voting for deletion of a template with zero objections) early or not? If it is not then I will stop doing that as well. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:14, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
You should not be closing discussions early. I have no idea why the other templates did not get properly tagged. You should also list the issue at the talk page for the XFD closer so that Evad can take a look. I do not maintain that script. Primefac (talk) 19:26, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
@Primefac: Okay, there will be no more closing discussions early but this does include discussions with unanimous support to delete a template? Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:28, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
Yes. A template could have unanimous support for 160 of the 168 hours of discussion, and denying someone the opportunity to !vote in those last 8 hours (and I'm just using that as an example obviously) would be improper. I've seen plenty of !votes that aren't even made until after the discussion hits the "old" state. Primefac (talk) 19:50, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
@Primefac: Per WP:RELIST, would I be allowed to close a discussion that has been relisted early as a non-admin. WP:RELIST states "A relisted discussion may be closed once consensus is determined without necessarily waiting a further seven days." Pkbwcgs (talk) 15:23, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
There is one reason to close a TFD early, and that is if the creator/sole editor G7's the template. There is no rush to close TFDs. I don't know why you feel that you must close TFDs early, just wait like the rest of us. Primefac (talk) 13:48, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
@Primefac: Most of the time, when I come in before 7am in the morning, the majority or if not, all of the TfDs are closed. What is this case? Is time zone a problem? Pkbwcgs (talk) 20:18, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
Clock rolls over at 00:00 UTC, and most of our closing admins are up at that point. Primefac (talk) 16:07, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Template talk deletion

You have added aa deleteion template {{Db-talk}} to may places such as: Template_talk:South_line which do not appear appropriate. Can you explain, or remove if in error?--S Philbrick(Talk) 18:31, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

@Sphilbrick: This is because when I was closing a TfD discussion, XFDCloser tagged the talk pages for deletion but failed to tag the templates for deletion for some apparent reason. This is not my fault, it is a technical fault with XFDCloser. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:35, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
I have already commented at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Holding cell#Ready for deletion about what happened regarding the templates you are referring to. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:39, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
Pkbwcgs, Thanks for explaining. S Philbrick(Talk) 18:41, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

Kalba and AfD

Did you work out what happened? I went down that wormhole with an earlier 'Carter AfD', if you try and AfD a redirect, it AfDs the redirect target. So you either have to nominate it for redirects for discussion or remove the redirect THEN AfD the page. Agh! Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 06:04, 19 October 2018 (UTC)

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months.

Hello Pkbwcgs/Archive, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

Backlog

As of 21 October 2018, there are 3650 unreviewed articles and the backlog now stretches back 51 days.

Project updates
  • ORES predictions are now built-in to the feed. These automatically predict the class of an article as well as whether it may be spam, vandalism, or an attack page, and can be filtered by these criteria now allowing reviewers to better target articles that they prefer to review.
  • There are now tools being tested to automatically detect copyright violations in the feed. This detector may not be accurate all the time, though, so it shouldn't be relied on 100% and will only start working on new revisions to pages, not older pages in the backlog.
