Wikipedia conflict of interest policies
editHi, Pklucas. I saw your post at the conflict of interest noticeboard. It can be unnerving to see your name at a noticeboard, and though I haven't looked at your article I thought you might like some general advice. First, though: Congratulations on the play and all the attention and awards!
You've taken the first step by introducing yourself at the noticeboard. Here are a couple of links about Wikipedia & conflict of interest:
It's hard to be neutral when writing about yourself/friends/family or a company/organisation with which you're associated. So we ask you to post an edit request on your article's talk page detailing the changes you'd like, with references to back them up. For example, if you want the show's run at The Fringe mentioned, don't simply say Trans Scripts was part of the Edinburgh Fringe and leave someone else to look it up: provide a link like this article in Slate. That way, someone who's uninvolved can take a look at it and make sure it's in line with Wikipedia's neutral point of view, reliable sources, and other policies/guidelines.
Unfortunately, there's a backlog of requested edits. I understand that the delay can be frustrating. Please be patient. We're all volunteers here, and do what we can. Thanks for being open about your conflict of interest. Cheers, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 07:57, 16 April 2017 (UTC).
Hi BlackcurrantTea. Thank you for your very kind and informative response. I will follow your advice, which makes complete sense in terms of maintaining neutrality. I will reread this message in the morning and go about requesting edits as described. I understand that there will be a backlog. That, too, makes sense. Thanks to all.
