Yun Chi-young

edit

Hi there,

Thank you for contributing a lot to the Yun Chi-young article, I know it was probably a lot of work.

I'm a little concerned about the edits though; the biggest issue is most of it has either broken citations or is not cited at all. Korean Wikipedia tends to do a poor job of citing claims, so even I avoid directly translating articles because I've seen info on many of them that's even flat-out incorrect or uses improper citation format.

Grammar and spelling are easy to fix; that's not a big problem. No need to focus on that much anymore. Citations would be top priority; if you can find and add more yourself that's even better.

If you'd like to continue working on the article, I strongly recommend you try to fix the references so that they work. If it's not fixed, it may be better that we undo all of your edits :( Nobody enjoys working so hard to fix things other people broke. It's much better if we hold back until someone adds well-cited information to an article. toobigtokale (talk) 22:57, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am planning to work on the article. I'm aware of some of the concerns you listed. And yes, I have noticed that there is a lot of uncited material in Korean Wikipedia, though I'm not well acquainted concerning the inaccuracies(there was one article that had the author's opinon - even one or two curse words). There's a number of (as you said) broken links I have to put in. Some of the grammar and translation has to be corrected (I put in an extremely rough draft through Google Translate. However, the article is extremely long, so it will take time.
Feel free to revise this if you wish.
Unfortunately, sources in English for Korea can sometimes be scarce. (I don't think you'll find much about older Korean politicians). Also, I've noticed that English Wikipedia articles on Korea can sometimes be stubs or reflect the author's bias. Pleaseclap2022 (talk) 07:42, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Got it, thanks for the reply. Agreed on Korea-topic articles in the English Wiki; lot of the articles are poor quality and I spend time fixing them up. I manage to find a reasonable number of sources on old Korean politicians (more than even on the Korean wiki lol…) although it’s a bit annoying to do so.
Best of luck on the touch up. toobigtokale (talk) 17:27, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I am going on a trip soon, so I will not able to edit all of this or add all those references.
Feel free to revise the "translation" and there are some references from the Korean Wikipedia. Some of them are dead links, and there probably needs to be more references. However it's still better than nothing.
Good luck! Pleaseclap2022 (talk) 17:46, 16 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Probably will undo them :( You took on a big project and didn’t follow through with it. Machine translation without thorough vetting is not allowed on Wikipedia. If you dispute the edits your having admitted to it here will not be helpful for your case. toobigtokale (talk) 18:00, 17 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I guess I have no choice. Do what you wish. Pleaseclap2022 (talk) 04:21, 18 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Yi Yun-yong, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Independent. Blindly reverting

edit

Hello. I noticed you rolled back numerous edits of Hungarian election articles. Because you hit the undo button without looking at what you were doing, in several cases you removed more detailed results and other additions to the articles. For example, in this edit (which unfortunately I see you have since repeated) you removed the seat changes, invalid votes and registered voters from the election results table, as well as category sorting. In this edit you removed the second round results in single-member constituencies from the results table and the table of results by county which had just been added by Impresszió. Please be more careful when hitting the undo button. Thanks, Number 57 20:56, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
