Help me!

edit

Help me make Rani's page more professional! I'm adding references and other things but do change my english. I am not a writer nor a professional. Help me! Thanks!

Great!

edit

I think it's a great idea! As a suggestion I'd ask you to find a copyrighted picture from 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' or 'Ghulam'. These were Rani's first two hits of her debut years! I don't know about Paheli! I don't like that picture! I think the purdah is hiding her face and hair! Thanks a lot!

Result

edit

So you did not find another picture!

The picture's source

edit

Yeah! I remembered where I found the Rani's picture from. Thank God! Here it is: [1]. That is the source. Thanks a lot!

Rani's picture

edit

Hey, i need your help! I think the picture I put on the page was awesome but since it's copyvio, you took it off! Could you not make it copyvio? Do you know a way how to make it feasible. If not, please find a good picture of Rani holding a Filmfare Award. As she currently holds the most filmfare awards as an actress, I think that would be nice in the awards section. Thanks!

Rani Mukerji page

edit

Thanks for your time, help and advice. I think I improved the whole page and made it cohesive whilst professional. You should check it and tell me something which i forgot to add. I got a lot of information from Filmfare Magazine February 2005 edition. It has two pages on Rani Mukerji. I reframed sentences and put them on the page. What do you think? Is it good? I hope Zora doesn't revert everything. Thanks again! I won't bother with your precious time again. I know you are busy.

But i heard on the Zee Cine Awards itself. They said No Entry was the biggest hit and Bunty Aur Babli was the second. The television people can't be wrong. The site can be a bit biased. The site put Kareena Kapoor as the biggest star for four years in a row when she has been having continuous flops. It's a good source but the site is a bit biased. I think the budget was 12 crore and the movie earned 35 crores so it is not considered an average, it was a hit. Black is an average movie.

Box-0ffice Facts

edit

I think it's high time you need to get your facts straight. See source: [2]. I think you were saying Black and Mangal Pandey didn't earn money. You should revise your statements now and stop bothering my work. These movies are among the top ten earners.

Rani Mukerji edit

edit

Thanks for helping me with the Zee Cine Awards. But you are really annoying me on Rani Mukerji's page. I was the only editor on her page and now we have too many people on it which create loads of problems. Anyway, please don't revert my edits. I have taken into consideration what you said. But it's true, Mangal Pandey and Black were amongst the most anticipated movies of 2005. Rani had the biggest in her kitty. You should read Filmfare Magazine and realize why she is on the top. It's because she has the biggest producers and directors backing her up in Bollywood. Obviously, she's talented. So, I changed my words and put them politically correct. I also put those nominations because it's an asset. It's ironic to see three of India's entries to the Golden Globes and what's the common factor in those movies. Yes, it's Rani Mukerji! Don't revert my edits.

Thanks for work on Filmfare awards

edit

I started the Filmfare pages and then dropped the ball on finishing them, so I'm glad that you're carrying on the job. A great addition to Wikipedia, and invaluable resource in case of arguments about who won what for what <g>. Zora 19:21, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Good work on Salman Khan filmography!

edit

Thanks Plumcouch! You don't participate in the high-profile, argumentative articles, you just plug away, making Wikipedia better. You're appreciated. Zora 00:32, 4 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Filmfare sites

edit

The sites I was using:

[3]

[4]

The last one is the director page, but it links to all the other award pages.

The indiavilas site is formatted such that I could select, copy, and paste onto an off-line text file, saving much of the typing effort, and then revise and reformat as needed. Zora 22:47, 4 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Arabic and Devanagari scripts

edit

Plumcouch, if you're still around, please come over to Talk:Bollywood and give an opinion re supplying Arabic/Devanagari versions after an actor's name or a movie's title. Zora 20:48, 12 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Images from bollywood4u

edit

Hi Plumcouch, appreciate the contributions you've made to the film articles. I'm not sure if its ok to have the images from bollywood4u.com. The disclaimer doesn't give the images to public domain but assumes it is in public domain. I don't know how the words sound legally, we need to ask the image experts on Wikipedia. Here is the list of images : Image:Isha_Koppikar.jpg, Image:Arjun rampal.jpg, Image:Tabu (actress).jpg, Image:Salman khan.jpg, Image:Madhuri Dixit.jpg, Image:Saifalikhan.jpg, Image:HrithikRoshan.jpg, Image:PreityZinta.jpg, Image:Kajol.jpg, Image:RaniMukherjee.jpg, Image:SushmitaSen.jpg Jay 17:42, 15 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Reg. the above I've already asked User:Spundun who has helped me in image copyrighting issues before. Also I found names of volunteers of the image copyrighting project at Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#Members. I went through their talk pages, the ones that look good are User:Ellmist and User talk:EagleOne. Jay 11:19, 16 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Good call on Rani Mukerji edit

edit

Or Mukherji or Mukerjhi or however it's spelled ... in any case, you removed the POV part and restored the verifiable part. Sweet! Zora 00:41, 23 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Bollywood pictures

edit

What happened with the Bollywood pictures was a new user named Shez 15 who was cockaroaching copyright pictures from various websites, uploading them, and replacing all the old pictures with his new copyvios. We stopped him and now his pictures are going away, but no one has taken charge of replacing them with PD pictures. I don't have time; if you could do it, it would be MUCH APPRECIATED. The picture now at Rani Mukherji is very bad -- that needs work.

I dunno how to search for PD images already uploaded -- it's probably simple and I'm just being lazy. But if you can find better images, please fix things! Zora 01:00, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks so much for the work you're doing on the pictures! It is much appreciated. Oh, and Merry Christmas! Zora 17:33, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Pictures

edit

Plumcouch, I've been advising people to use magazine covers, because they're OK from a copyright POV. Magazine, CD, and DVD covers are, so far as I know, all OK to scan and put up. You say that you have a source of PD promo photos? That's better, but no everyone does. A lot of people DO have film magazines, however. How is it that you have promo photos? Do you work in the industry?

I think we need more than just you and me agreeing on the one picture per article. Myself, I'd be inclined to allow more pictures IF they're of some historical interest, showing the actor/actress at different ages, in notable situations (Amitabh addressing Parliament?) etc. However, I do agree that there has to be some balance between words, text, and notability. An article that's nothing but cheesecake pictures is laughable.

We need an Indian cinema notice board, like the one for Indian topics in general. I keep meaning to set one up and getting sidetracked.

Shez 15's Rani monomania is, BTW, nuts. Zora 19:57, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Rani comments

edit

Don't delete the trivia part on Rani's page because it's true what is written there. It contains comments passed by famous people of Bollywood regarding Rani Mukerji. They are genuine. You may want to delete the picture.

New project page -- input needed

edit

Hullo Plumcouch, I finally did what I'd been promising to do for months, and started a new project page for Indian cinema. Come visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cinema, sign up, and help us come up with some guidelines for Indian cinema articles. Zora 22:33, 30 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi, since you have done great work with images for Bollywood, would you like to have a go at designing the template as per Zora's suggestion at Wikipedia Talk:WikiProject Indian cinema. I may be creating the template to roll off the process. --Gurubrahma 06:27, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Aishwarya Rai page

edit

Hi, i've seen the work you have been doing on wikipedia, firstly well done!! Secondly I have seen Aishwarya Rai's page and seen that there is four pictures of her. I don't think there should be that many. In fact i think they may have some copyright issues and so i just thought i'd tell you Pa7 00:26, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thanx for sorting out the Aishwarya Rai page, im hopeless when it comes to stuff like copyrighting etc etc. By the way, Rani's page is being added with loads and loads of pictures. You may want to check them...Thanx again, Well done. Pa7 18:09, 10 February 2006

Aishwarya rai image

edit

Hi, you may want to put this image for deletion as it has been vandalised. AFAIK, image uploads cannot be reverted. --Gurubrahma 14:30, 20 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I see an elongated and smeared image. Could it be that you have the old image cached and that's what you're seeing in place of the vandalized one? Zora 00:12, 21 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
That picture you linked to my talk page looks just fine. The one that was appearing in the article was a shot of Paro lighting a lamp, I think, that was stretched and smeared. I dunno what is going on. Zora 00:23, 21 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vinod Khanna, Alag

edit

Plumcouch, I've just done a lot of googling and I'm fairly sure that Alag's Vinod Khanna is the same old Vinod Khanna. Yes, he's an old guy starring opposite a hot young thing -- but that's not unusual. It don't think it's QUITE as common in Bollywood as it is in Hollywood. Amitabh, frex, is usually paired with middle-aged women these days. But Vinod Khanna seems to have been churning out films all these years and he probably works cheap :) Zora 21:11, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Priyanka Chopra page

edit

I have just noticed you corrected the picture of Salman and Priyanka by changing it back to a still from Salaam-E-Ishq but it is not a still from that movie. It is a still from Mujhse Shaadi Karoge. Check the talk page on Priyanka Chopra's article and you will see why it is. The website where this picture was uploaded from is wrong in saying it is a still from Salaam-E-Ishq. Go to the talk page and I have explained why it is from Mujshe Shaadi Karoge. (Shakirfan 22:52, 20 March 2006 (UTC))Reply

Mukherjee-Samarth family

edit

Hi, i saw the family tree you created which is really good. I tried to show the Samarth connection with the Mukherjee clan but i think it would be better to have a seperate family tree to show this. Currently there are two family trees on the page. I did the Samarth one but the connections are wrong. I tried to correct it but i couldn't do it. Can you please have a look and correct it if possible. Thank you. Pa7 17:28, 7 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanx for sorting out the family tree, it shows the connection correctly. There's a few bits missing like Sharbani's relation to the family but im sure i can find her family history. Also Rani and Raja Mukherjee are second cousins to Kajol and Tanisha so im going to try and find out who there grandfather was. Rani said in an interview that her and Kajol's grandfather (Sashadhar Mukherjee) are brothers. Anywayz, if you do find anything else then please add to the tree. The more info we've got the better. Thanks again. Take care. Pa7 20:59, 7 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi, i looked at the link you sent, and from what it says it makes clear that Subodh. M had a brother, Sashadhar M. I think your right that Rani's grandfather is a brother to the two. She mentioned it in an interview, also there is a link on the page full of her interviews, and she states that her and Kajol are second cousins. I've googled furiously but i didn't get anything on her grandfather. I guess were gonna have to work with what we've got so far. I mean we can add more people on the tree like Subodh Mukherjee's family. Also, i read an interview which said that Raja Mukherjee and his wife are expecting their first child, so that's another addition. I'll try to have a look again, after that im gonna try and create articles on the family. There's no article on Sashadhar Mukherjee. There's a lot of info on him as well. There is an article on his brother Subodh M. but it needs expanding :) Pa7 13:42, 8 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi added pages on Sashadhar Mukherjee and Joy Mukherjee
