Fixing LaTeX in articles
[edit source]
Helped
!! IT WONT LET ME POST ON HELP DESK SO IM POSTING HERE, SORRY IF I USED THE TEMPLATE WRONG !!
Hi! I've noticed that a lot of LaTeX in articles is broken (or at least appears as such to me). I tried to fix it in the past by replacing it with non-latex solutions, but my edit was reverted. I am not upset at my edit being reverted, but I do still want to fix this. It just looks like unrendered LaTeX to me:
$ PSL_{2}{\bigl (}\mathbb {Z} [{\tfrac {1}{p}}]{\bigr )} $ (Excerpt taken from Jennifer Taback)
I have also noticed it at Turing machine and several other articles. Is this a problem with my wikipedia prefrences or with the LaTeX itself? If it's the LaTeX, what is the correct way to fix it? Thank you! ▰▱ Plural ▱▰ Talk 13:49, 24 August 2026 (UTC)
- I just checked and it seems to be working for me. Can you go to Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-rendering and check that the Math section is set to "MathML with SVG image (server side MathJax rendering)"? FlammablePizza (talk) 14:11, 24 August 2026 (UTC)
- It works! Thank you so much! ▰▱ Plural ▱▰ Talk 14:57, 24 August 2026 (UTC)
