Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:The Agony (Band)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:The Agony (Band), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Markéta Morávková moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Markéta Morávková, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Edit warring on Alia Tempora article
editHello Podbor, you recently reverted my revert of an edit you made on the Alia Tempora page. My reason for reverting your edit was that I didn't consider it to be an improvement. If you reassert the edit after another editor has reverted it, you are engaging in an edit war, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. The appropriate procedure is to discuss the matter on the article's talk page. Please familiarize yourself with edit warring: Wikipedia:Edit warring. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 21:39, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Hello Revirvlkodlaku, thank you for the message and the warning. I'm happy with your contribution but a few information were not correct, for example: Alia Tempora does not see themselves as "heavy metal" but rather "electronic metal" so I decided to change a few lines after a consultation with Marketa Morávková. How could we collaborate on the page as our goal would be (I guess) the same?
- Podbor, as much as I want to be able to collaborate with you on improving this page, I currently have two issues: one, you went ahead and reverted my edit once more, despite my warning about edit warring. I will warn you once more that this is not permitted on Wikipedia and if you persist in this course of action, I will report you and your account may be blocked indefinitely; my second issue is that based on your comment, you seem to have a close connection with one of the members of the band. This means that you are not an impartial editor and there may be a conflict of interest on your part. I can overlook this as long as the types of edits you do to the page do not reflect this close connection. As a suggestion, since you do seem to be connected to the band, a good way to reliably reference the genre that they play is by obtaining an outside source. Are you able to find a non-primary reference that describes the band's musical style? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 13:57, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
Hello Revirvlkodlaku, the change I did on the Alia Tempora article was limited only to the band genre which was part of the page regardless of your changes (if I remember correctly) so I don't see a conflict with your latest update / revert. The suggestion for finding a reference for an outside source is a good one, I understand that we should be serious and provide references for all content. I'll try to amend it. Podbor (talk) 10:01, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- The conflict of interest is that if you have a direct or personal connection with the subject of the page, you should not be making edits to it. Please try to find a non-primary source supporting your change of genre for the band, otherwise I will revert it to what it was prior to your involvement. At that point, if you revert again, you will receive a warning about inappropriate editing. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 13:56, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- I've managed to found a reference (Czech language only): https://rocksound.cz/2019/10/23/alia-tempora-tvrdi-v-novem-klipu-hateri-stekaji-ale-nekousou/ or https://rocksound.cz/2019/07/14/v-likerce-rudolf-jelinek-bylo-v-patek-na-podiu-ruzovo-i-temno/. Would it be sufficient? Podbor (talk) 15:54, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- Neither of those articles says anything about a genre called "Electronic Dance Metal". It references the band combining metal with pop, but that's about it. There is officially no such genre as "Electronic Dance Metal", and the abbreviation EDM stands for "Electronic Dance Music". There are a variety of other styles that could be used to describe Alia Tempora, perhaps electronic metal or glam metal, but EDM isn't going to work. Going forward, please only link articles that reference the band's musical style, I would rather not waste my time reading articles that are not useful to this conversation, thank you. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:51, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Revirvlkodlaku, Thank you for the answer and sorry for the delay. Let's go with electronic or glam metal, these sounds better and are way more correct then heavy metal. Regarding other articles, let me share just those I think might be relevant. This article: https://www.rockfiendpublicationsscotland.co.uk/alia-tempora-dragonfly-effect refers to "euro-synth and symphonic rock styles". Alternatively, "Modern Metal Band" referenced here: https://www.pragokoncert.com/en/aktuality/Posilame-pozdrav-a-vzpominku-na-MASTERS-OF-ROCK-2019-od-kapely-ALIA-TEMPORA. Podbor (talk) 12:28, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
- Podbor, at this point, I think we can just leave the genres as they are currently on the page, no? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 13:54, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
