You removed a post that I put on a page regarding a train accident that my father was in 5 October 1964. I am new to this but was trying to put the record straight. you could have contacted me before taking the information down. This information can be verified by newspapers and British Rail and by the fact that my father is still receiving compensation for having both his legs smashed. There is also photographic evidence of the crash which shows the engine crushed entitled 'Two came out alive'. My father also drove the Elizabethan and the Flying Scotsman and engineered the Mallard.   • conflict of interest (Do not edit Wikipedia in your own interests or in the interests of your external relationships.).
Your phrase above "my father is still receiving compensation" indicates that he is still alive, therefore a fifth also applies: that of

Welcome to Wikipedia, but it is not a place like Facebook or LinkedIn for people to write about themselves. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles, and writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography.

Articles vs. user pages, and conflict of interest

Regarding your edit here, you are probably not aware of the difference between a main space article and a user page.

A user page is intended for basic information about oneself and one's Wikimedia-related activities. Although a lot of freedom is allowed in personalizing a user page, it is not a personal website, blog, or social media site, nor should it be used to promote oneself, or host a fake article, CV/resumé or lengthy autobiography. There are more detailed explanations of acceptable and unacceptable user page content. I see that your user page was deleted - I can't see what content was on it, but it was likely deleted because the content was not considered acceptable.

An article in the main space must be about a notable topic. Articles about people must meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for persons, with particular criteria for living persons. Writing about yourself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography. The article you created about yourself was deleted by an administrator because it did not adequately demonstrate that you are notable enough to be the subject of a Wikipedia article, and also because it was excessively promotional and served to advertise your business.

That leads to the next point: conflict of interest (COI). Wikipedia has guidelines that advise users against writing about topics to which they have a strong personal or professional connection. It is not prohibited, but highly discouraged because of the inherent difficulty in writing with the required neutral point of view.

My advice is for you not to edit the articles on lists of rail accidents directly, but rather leave a suggested edit on the article talk page. That will allow an uninvolved editor to review the changes/additions you propose and add them on your behalf, or suggest further revisions. I also noticed that the citation you included was very sparse on detail. Look at {{Cite news}} and under the subheading "Most commonly used parameters in horizontal format", review some of the fields that would be required for an adequate citation.
