2014 Hockey World Cup Qualification

edit

Hi, let me explain you how the qualification process is so you can see why India is not yet qualified. This FIH link explains it perfectly.

If Korea wins the continental championship, as they already qualified through the World League Semifinal, that quota will be given to the next placed team in the World League Semifinal final ranking that has not yet qualified. See this chart.

Even though India is higher in the World Rankings than Malaysia, they enden 6th in their Semifinal, when Malaysia finished 5th. Therefore they qualify before India. The only way the World Ranking is taken as a tie braker is when the quota has to be given to one of two teams that ended equally ranked in their respective Semifinal. Example: When Germany won European championship, as they had already qualified, that quota had to be awarded to one of the teams that had finished 5th in the Semifinals. As Spain was higher ranked, they qualified.

I hope this explanation was clear enough. Cheers. --M&m89 (talk) 03:09, 31 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I guess that clears the confusion Thanks for the clarificationNithishr (talk) 17:12, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ok got it now. So for Rowing it should not be red as they are having the next rounds whereas for shooting its red.. Right? Nithishr (talk) 17:07, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ok will change it. But then other events are also given the same color code.. Nithishr (talk) 17:02, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Suggest any other color, Red is too dark. Abhishek2810 (Talk|Contribute)

I have changed it to OrangeRed, but still i feel that it should be light, as dark colors hide the flags many times. Abhishek2810 (Talk|Contribute)

I am also viewing same web color page. I like MistyRose, PeachPuff,.. Abhishek2810 (Talk|Contribute) —Preceding undated comment added 11:48, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
