To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes

Afsharid dynasty
editHi Premitive. I believe every single citation to do with Axworthy in Afsharid dynasty is from the The Sword of Persia: Nader Shah, from Tribal Warrior to Conquering Tyrant book. This might be of help to you [1]. --HistoryofIran (talk) 22:32, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi. "Iran: Empire of the Mind" is also written by Axworthy and is cited in Afsharid dynasty. But I believe those citations that do not mention the title of the source (such as "Axworthy p. 8") are referring to the source you mentioned. Thanks for the link to the source, I will take a deeper look to those citations. Premitive (talk) 23:57, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- Ah that's right, my bad. Happy to help, feel free to write if you're in need of a certain source(s), I have most of them. --HistoryofIran (talk) 11:31, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Much appreciated, I will write to you if I was in need of a certain source.Premitive (talk) 13:07, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

Samanid Empire
editThe IP that did the changes was me. Also, the lead of an article should be a summation of the article. The lead does summarize what the article states. There is no need for "Iranian" empire since it is not supported by the article.
Is there something wrong with "of Iranian dehqan origin."? Kansas Bear (talk) 17:59, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
I am doing an overall check to certain dynasties, Tahirids(done), Samanid(done), Saffarids(in progress). Would you happen to know of any WP:RS concerning the religion of the Saffarids? --Kansas Bear (talk) 18:00, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Kansas Bear:, sorry I didn't knew. I reverted my edits. regarding religion of the Saffarids:
- Cunliffe, Barry W. (2015). By Steppe, Desert, and Ocean: The Birth of Eurasia. Oxford University Press. pp. 388–389. ISBN 9780199689170.
The Sunni Samanids eventually annexed the territories of the Shi'ite Saffarids in 908, creating a powerful emirate bounded by the Pamir, the Caspian Sea, the Iranian plateau, and the steppe.
- According to the source in Tahirid dynasty, Tahirids were "ethnically Persian". I thought introducing them as "Arabized dynasty of Persian origin", will give the impression of "Arab of Persian origin".
- For Samanid empire, the current version also looks good to me.
- Premitive (talk) 18:58, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
- The Tahirids were Arabized culturally, and that is mentioned in the article(Bosworth). They had little to do with Persian language or culture, so culturally they could have been considered Arab.
- As for the Saffarids, I have never seen any reference to them being Shia Muslim. Thanks for the source! --Kansas Bear (talk) 19:27, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
