Hi I saw your request to delete this article and start again. I've tagged it so that it will probably be deleted, if you don't want it to be deleted anymore, please let me know as soon as possible (reply to this). Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 15:47, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for seeing that. I wasn't sure if anyone would respond. I am going to re-edit it one more time, and if still isn't accepted, I want to delete it. Is this still allowed?

Press Stevens (talk) 15:49, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article had already been approved (I assume you're refering to articles for creation?). However from what is there the title (Press Stevens) doesn't really have anything to do with what's in the article.
I can move it back to your userspace (so you can edit it without problems like it being deleted) then when it's ready you can resubmit it to AFC. How does that sound? Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 15:58, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

That sounds great. I'd really appreciate it being moved. Thank you.

I've moved the article to User:Press Stevens/Ecological Restoration, feel free to work on it there. If you need any help in the future please feel free to leave a message on my talk page and I'll do my best to help. Proposed deletion of Arctic Anthropology

edit

The article Arctic Anthropology has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notability of journals

edit

Following on from the above discussion about Arctic Anthropology, I notice you have some other work-in-progress articles about journals. I appreciate you're probably fed up of being told to read things, but this essay spells out exactly what the magic citations are for notability when it comes to journals. You've observed that we talk in links a lot around here, well, here's one you can throw around yourself.

Keep up the good work, and feel free to ask on my talk page if you have any questions. joe•roetc 09:56, 9 July 2012 (UTC)11Reply

you will notice that the key factor is the indexing: every major selective index should be listed, but only the very most important ones. Note also that journal editors-in-chief of major journals are considered notable by WP:PROF. Check to see if they have an article. -- Earlier editors-in-chief should also be listed--all of them are notable. (but only the editors in chief). DGG ( talk ) 00:31, 6 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I am adding the necessary material to show the notability. Please excuse the earlier rejections, by some inexperienced editors who did not know precisely the standard guidelines for this subject.

user name

edit

However, the name you have used can be considered to refer to the publisher of the journal, and therefore you must choose another username. As explained in WP:USER, only individuals may edit. When you have a username that refers to the name of your organization, you imply that you are editing officially, and have a superior right to edit the page. But that is not the way WP works--all editors are considered equal--and your contributions like those of any editor must be justified by sources. I'm sure you do not intend to give such impression, but that's why we have the rule. Therefore, please choose another name. On that user page, you should say whom you are working for. It would also be appropriate to link to it on this user page. DGG ( talk ) 00:35, 6 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
