Ikot Okoro General Hospital was established in 1954 to caters for everyone with a mission to ensure the provision of safe, quality, affordable, adequate, equitable and accessible health services to all people. The Hospital however suffered neglect and decay after the defunct South Eastern Nigeria. A faith that was similar to what happened to former prosperous IKOT OKORO. The Hospital is currently undergoing renovation after the Governor of the State- Udom Emmanuel visited the dilapidated Hospital in August, 2016 and afterward ordered for immediate renovation. Hopefully the glorious days of the hospital can be restored.
