AIV
editHi again, thanks for reporting that user to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (AIV for short). They were certainly doing some strange things to that article and their edits need quite a lot of cleaning up. That said, I've decided not to block them as it seems what they were doing was a genuine, if clumsy, attempt to improve the article by adding content to it. Although there's now some cleaning up to do - and another user is already kindly re-editing the article now to try and put things right - one of the most important rules on Wikipedia is to assume good faith, so I've given the benefit of the doubt in this case.
Having said all that, you were absolutely right to raise your concerns and I would definitely encourage you to do so again in future. That's why I thought I should explain my decision here. Thanks again, and happy editing! WaggersTALK 08:26, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- I overreacted :(. Do you think I should drop an apology on their talk page? Probability amplitude (talk) 08:47, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- Perhaps, but don't beat yourself up about it! WaggersTALK 08:51, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- I've dropped them a note. Thank you. Probability amplitude (talk) 09:00, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
