CSD tagging
editThanks for helping with CSD tagging. One thing I noticed in a couple of your tags, you used {{db-empty}}, where {{db-blanked}} would be a better tag. Thanks again for helping out. =) -- Gogo Dodo 04:42, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. I'm new to this, so any advice is welcome!--Proofreader J-Man 05:42, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Notability
editPlease familiarize yourself with the wikipedia term notability. A good place to start would be the policy you cited on the speedy deletion you tagged on Patricia Racette. When someone says "So-and-so is a famous..." they are asserting importance. Jerry lavoie 05:49, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help. When I saw the article, it was only one line. What criterion would you have used? No context? --Proofreader J-Man 06:02, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I would have contacted the editor who wrote it and asked if they had plans to expand the article. (It was put in category ...-stubs). Otherwise I would use the text "it is a very short article which provides little or no context to the reader." Jerry lavoie 06:13, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Would you be willing to remove the tags from the article now? Thanks. Jerry lavoie 06:14, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Certainly. I've removed both tags. Thanks again for your advice. --Proofreader J-Man 06:19, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Speedy tags
editThanks for helping identifying articles that need attention. Please also help by placing a warn tag on the authors talk-page. That will help identify recreations. Agathoclea 22:54, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your advice. I will try to do so in the future. However, I have a question: the Speedy Deletion criteria page gives examples of the "subst" template to place on the originator's talk page, but only for some of the criteria. What should I put on the talk page for speedy deletions for, say, "no context," or "blanked," neither of which seem to have corresponding "subst" templates? Proofreader J-Man 03:44, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- The {{db-blank}} or {{db-empty}} has the following warning {{subst:empty-warn|ARTICLE}} ~~~~. In fact which template are you using that does not contain the message? I would need to take a lok at that. Agathoclea 07:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Attack on User Page
editHow do I deal with someone who put an attack on my User Page? I blanked it out, but there must be some way to report the user.
Lauren therien
editI see we are both putting up Speedy deletions for Lauren therien. I'm pretty sure that this has already been deleted once tonight as per the logs. Do you know which speedy tag is correct to be put up? MrMacMan 05:32, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll let you know if I find out too. MrMacMan 05:30, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Article on Bomba Dynasty may be real
editArticle on Bomba Dynasty may be real. I saw this article being created. There is another article that it links to called Sultan Muzaffar Khan which is a stub. I found a reference for this stub at Mir-át-i Mas'údi which I will introduce for it. I am a Recent Changes Patrol editor too (please see my userpage if you have doubts. Cheers, Ronbo76 07:04, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- My understanding of this topic is very limited. This dynasty supposedly existed and is referenced by the wikilink I supplied you. I just editted the article to the one you tagged and added a bio tag to it. The bio tag should trigger some bots to search for a project that supports this info. As an American, I do not know much about it but heard about it due to time spent in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. I am looking for some Bomba Dynasty references now. Ronbo76 07:18, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Just found a good one. Here is the URL: Remains of the day It mentions the Bomba Dynasty directly in first paragraph. I will edit it in immediately hopefully to prevent deletion. Ronbo76 07:26, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
editFor fixing my silly typo.--Pharos 07:16, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
oh man....
editCan u give me a link to that article.? I swear I put a speedy delete on it.Pendo 4 12:28, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion Tags
editI did not remove any tags. I added the text "Speedy Delete" in the body of an article I created after I saw it was already in Wikipedia.--Agrofe 13:46, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Thanks for reverting on Bo Taylor
editNo problem :) If it has not already been reported, what's the IP address he's using?
Chrisch 01:11, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
I'll look into the IP addresses, and see if they're still vandalising :) By the way, as most of them start with 71.247, this indicates that they are more than likely owned by the same internet service provider. If we are having ongoing problems with these addresses, let me know and I'll contact their ISP. :)
IP address summary
editI've just gone through and checked each IP address you reported to me. Results are below
- 71.247.182.92: Only one edit.
- 71.195.67.241: Bo Taylor edits deleted.
- 71.247.196.225: Seems to be quite annoying! I've reverted many of his edits, leaving him 2 warnings and an editing suggestion on his talk page.
- 71.247.183.94: Issued with a warning.
- 71.247.153.60: Issued with a warning.
- 71.247.174.53: Issued with a warning.
- 71.247.165.54: Only one edit.
If you have any more problems with these IPs, just let me know :)
Re:Botaylor456
editI just became aware of the situation today from the AFD for Bo Taylor. Since you have been following this situation, you might have more evidence/comments to add to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Botaylor456. — ERcheck (talk) 05:44, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Apologies
editI tried to create an article on Academy Sports & Outdoors, but I failed to update it in a timely manner...I will create it again later when I have time to completely fill it out. Again, my apologies for creating a blank article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tx210guy (talk • contribs) 07:58, 9 April 2007 (UTC).
Another Botaylor456 Sockpuppet?
editUser Jordan Maxferres seems to be doing the same thing that Bo and his other sockpuppets have done. --Proofreader J-Man 05:02, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed, this is another sock puppet account (which I've blocked). Thanks for bringing it to my attention! —David Levy 12:13, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your prompt action, and here's another one-- User WLS-TV. This guy is obsessed and apparently unstoppable. --Proofreader J-Man 15:32, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've blocked the account. Thanks again for your continued advice on this matter! —David Levy 15:46, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
ΕΛΔΥΚ
editI wish to thank you for your cultural sensitivity for tagging the ΕΛΔΥΚ article for translation rather than deletion. No matter what happens to the article or what the merit of its contents is, by giving it a chance you showed great understanding for cultural diversity and even greater patience. Kudos. Dr.K. 02:21, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Winters edits
editI'm noticing a trend of related editors, which may be sockpuppets, meatpuppets, both, or neither. They are:
- LtWinters (talk · contribs)
- Dkwinters (talk · contribs)
- jwinters (talk · contribs)
- 72.90.174.49 (talk · contribs)
- Other(s)?
I don't know whether this is significant or not, but I think it's interesting. --Ssbohio 19:46, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Article?
editYou've placed a "don't remove" speedy tags on my page? Since I don't create articles I'm wondering what it is for? --Fredrick day 09:45, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Blanked page
editI blanked the page so for the Cyrus Robinson article so that an associate of mine could post a better biography with appropriate documentation and citations to show relevance and notability.
Stockcar Heat
editI have redone the page but someone has deleted it? What sort of action can I take? --Fireranger19 (talk) 23:05, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
